No difference in Coordinate systems, and the symbology is retained upon upload. I'm checking back in desktop to more closely examine the shapefiles to see if there's any discernible breaks at a large scale, then I'll see if I need to recreate the line work or not.

I've uploading some a linework shapefile to detail a road project area in a AGOL map, and upon first appearances, there are appears to be segmentation in the line work (corners, bends, etc). Is this a matter of playing around with it in the display attributes (it gets better if I keep line widths lower), or should I try recreating/re-exporting the shapefile? I'm still playing around with a couple of options. Thanks, -Matt

Hello all, I didn't get a chance to post on this thread before the weekend. But after speaking with ESRI tech support, they were aware of the issue--and it appears as though it has been fixed. Our hosted layers were all working smoothly on the desktop & mobile app versions, so everything is good. Thanks for commenting and replying with updates. -Matt

Thanks for posting guys, I actually just spoke with tech support as well and did a share screen so they could see what I'm looking at. By all accounts, I think it's something on their end that they're working on fixing. Let me know when things start operating more smoothly for you. Thanks, -Matt

I was curious to see if anyone else was having issues with AGOL-hosted layers and a map this morning. My utility layer map wasn't working on mobile/ipads starting a few minutes ago, and now the desktop version is being pretty slow. I was curious if ESRI was doing some server maintenance or something. Anyway, I'll do a .shp layer re-upload in the meantime to see if that fixes the issue. (mobile/ipad app versions also seem to be current, so I don't know what else to do). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks -Matt

Thanks Robert! Coincidentally, right after I posted this question, I ran into that tutorial link that you posted while continuing my research. (Always nice to know when you're on the right track). I will work with it a bit and if I have further questions I will post them on the thread. -Matt

After setting up a web app, users can see our organization's map. But I'm not really satisfied with the stock legend, scale, etc. options when you use the service to print. Is there a way I can edit the layout features of my map so that it's a bit more uniform and pleasing in terms of layout features? (scale bar in feet vs. miles, inserting the organization's contact info and logo, a more streamlined legend). Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks, -Matt

Thanks Don! I'll check out those videos & start playing around with ArcGIS for AutoCAD on a couple test layers to see what I can do. For further help/questions about ArcGIS for AutoCAD would you mind if I follow you--then I can relay questions straight to you? -Matt

FME had some interesting options that I'm looking into at the moment. In an ideal world, we would be able to update on the ArcMap side (for utility layer changes, etc.) then have the work-flow set up so that AutoCAD would auto-update (or even set-up the process of exporting layers from Arcmap & importing to AutoCAD would not be so cumbersome). If that makes sense. -Matt

I just downloaded the ArcGIS for AutoCAD add-on but haven't really played with it yet. I was curious if other people had experience creating linkages between the two programs. Is there a way to create a pathway in which people within our organization could edit in one program and then the changes would automatically update in the other? Or is there always going to be several steps involved transferring line-work, etc. from one to the other? (We use ArcMap v. 10.5.1 & AutoCAD Infrastructure Design suite--using Civil 3D). Any help/feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, -Matt

Thanks Robert, I actually went through these links in my initial investigation. Getting the space on a outward-facing server is something I'm still pushing for, but this issue has pushed me to be a bit more creative and expand my skill-set, so that's a positive. Thanks for the feedback. -Matt

I was just curious if it were possible to host a custom WAB Dev app that I created on a free web hosting service (like GitHub). Our organization currently doesn't have a web-facing server space to host it, and I wanted to try a test-run. Further, what do the steps involved entail? Appreciate the feedback/help. Best, -Matt

I have created a city utilities map and uploaded it to 'my content' on AGOL. With the amount of information involved, even with scale visibility parameters associated with certain layers, the map has a tendency to lag when refreshing. I would like to create group layers for my map (water-associated info, sanitary sewer, storm, rural water, etc) and be able to click the entire group layer on/off if I want. This would greatly help the load speed of the map and increase usability for those seeking the map. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? (Note: I have built a WAB Dev app that enables a toggle on/off switch but our dept. doesn't have an outward facing server, so I can't upload the app yet, so I'm looking for a solution using AGOL-based tools, and I am using ArcMap 10.5.1). Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated, thank you). -Matt
