Does anyone know of any way to automatically break user connections to an enterprise geodatabase? We are trying to run some scripts overnight, but they need to acquire locks on certain datasets, and we have some users who leave connections open. I'd like to find a way to break their connections without having to go through the manual process. Thanks!

Russell, That was definitely the problem I was running into, so thank you! Unfortunately, I've hit another error. Have you ever seen something like this: I can't tell if the script just hit a snag on one of the values, or if I really can't execute a VB Expression as part of one of the models. Would love to have your thoughts. Thanks!

Casing is all correct. I commented out Tool0_PreScript because it returned the error. After that, Tool1_DeleteStreets returned the error. The script seems to stumble over any line in that part of the script.

Thanks for the help Russell. I'm still having a little trouble. This is my code: import arcpy
arcpy.ImportToolbox(r"X:\GIS_Projects\Street_Centerlines\Update.tbx","Streets")
#arcpy.Tool0_PreScript_Streets()
arcpy.Tool1_DeleteStreets_Streets()
arcpy.Tool2_CopyData_Streets()
arcpy.Tool3_CalcROADCLASS_Streets()
arcpy.Tool4_AppendStreets_Streets()
arcpy.Tool5_CalcPSAP_Streets()
arcpy.Tool6_CalcMUNILEFT_Streets()
arcpy.Tool7_CaclMUNIRIGHT_Streets()
I'm getting this error at the moment: Traceback (most recent call last): File "X:/GIS_Projects/Street_Centerlines/Python_Scripts/Automate_StreetUpdate2", line 6, in <module> arcpy.Tool1_DeleteStreets_Streets() AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'Tool1_DeleteStreets_Streets' I can't quite figure out what I'm doing wrong... any thoughts? Thanks

I must be less apt for this than I thought.. I can't make any sense out of that. Any chance you could explain a little more?

Thanks Michael, I have been trying to figure out how to do just that. I'm not much of a python whiz. Would you, please, provide an example? Thanks again

I'm starting to get a feel for Model Builder, but I can't figure this out: I've got 9 geoprocessing models that are all part of the same essential process. I want to have one model, or script, that will run each one of them consecutively. I tried doing everything in a single model, but I got red exes on some of the tools because I am overwriting some datasets. At the same time, it could be useful to keep each step separated anyway. So, does anyone know of anyway to automate running 9 models consecutively? Thanks!

Thanks Mike. I did notice that when I tried the same thing. I thought it must be an error, since their application seems to be consuming the service anyway.

I'm trying to pull in FEMA's National Flood Hazard Layer, but I receive the following error:
"The WMS service, http://hazards.fema.gov/wmsconnector/wmsconnector/Servlet/NFHL?REQUEST=GetCapabilities&SERVICE=WMS, cannot be added to the map. It is either not available or you have entered an invalid URL for the type of layer you want to reference"
The service complies with version 1.1.1 of the WMS specification. Could that be the problem? Additionally, I have tried to connect with this service using ArcMap 10.1, and there too had trouble. When I was on ArcMap 10.0, I was able to connect. Now, when I try it there, I receive the following error:
"A user-supplied component or subscriber raised an exception"
Has anyone seen this error before? Any insight appreciated! Thanks, Craig Carsley

Mike and Rick, Thank you for responding so quickly. I am using ArcMap 10.1 to publish the service. The other service I used was pulled in from the County's ArcGIS server. The URLs are... http://services.arcgis.com/pDAi2YK0L0QxVJHj/arcgis/rest/services/Healthy_Homes_Test/FeatureServer/0 http://maps.dogis.org/arcgis/rest/services/Planning/Code_Enforcement/MapServer/0 Healthy_Homes_Test is the one I'm having trouble with. I want to create a drop-down filter for Type and/or Status. Code_Enforcement does it automatically. Thank you for your help!

I am experiencing the same problem. Can't determine why it works on some services, but not others. Has anyone discovered a solution? Thanks!
