What release is the geodatabase (version 10? 9.3.x?) and what release of ArcMap are you using? Robert LeClair Esri-Denver

I tested the downloaded data as well and had the same experience. Rebuilding raster statistics did not help. What worked is exporting it to a new GRID and voila, it worked. Hope this helps! Robert LeClair Esri-Denver

Jamie - last thing - I would encourage you to click the envelope icon on the upper right of the Fuzzy Membership help page and write the documentation team that you'd like a better explanation for this page as well as real-world examples. If they don't know that folks aren't happy with it, the likelihood of it changing much save for technical details might be small.

Michael - glad it helped but it still made me curious why the change with regard to integer and floating point. I pulled up the 9.3 Desktop Help and there's GP tools for FocalMedian as well as FocalStatistics - http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?TopicName=FocalMedian that will work with integer or floating point rasters. Not 100% sure why floating point rasters were removed from this statistic type but I did find a related forum article whereby Bill Huber explains a little about the logic - http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/14213-neighborhood-focal-statistics....-without-the-statistics The "cliff" note version is that floating point rasters will support an attribute table and integer rasters do.

Michael - From the Focal Stats help - "If the input raster is of floating point type, only the Mean, Maximum, Minimum, Range, STD, and Sum statistics are available; the Majority, Minority, Median and Variety statistics are not permitted. If the input raster is of integer type, all the statistics types are available." Question - is your DEM a floating point type raster? If so, then you use the INT geoprocessing tool to change the cell format to integer and then run the Focal Stats tool for the median statistic type. Hope this helps, Robert LeClair Esri-Denver

Jamie - I did a quick look into the ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 help system and the pages looked identical to 10.0 help pages so at the moment, no major change in that realm. I did fine one help page that discusses the various "fuzzy" overlay types but I imagine you've seen this already. At the top right of each help page is a feedback button that you can write the authoring team. Perhaps you can use this to ask for additional clarification. With regard to a parameter change "preview", I'm not aware of any process that could do this other than doing what you're already doing with ModelBuilder. I did find one related idea on the ArcGIS Ideas page that perhaps may be applicable in your situation. If so, a vote is always a good thing. Sorry I can't be of more assistance. Regards, Robert

It is a bug - NIM067950 - that you can reference - http://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/role/beta10_1/TklNMDY3OTUw The issue is resolved at 10.1. At the moment, there is no workaround. Hope this helps. Robert LeClair Esri-Denver

Tim - question for you - are you using the Cut Polygon tool in a layer generated from the "Create Layer from Selected Features" command? If so, there's a NIM040435 that addresses this particular issue with no resolution other than not creating a layer from selected features. Robert LeClair Esri-Denver

Agreed - sounds like there was a lock on the FDS thereby preventing you from creating a new FC in the FDS. Glad it's working now...

Matt - I tested on my ArcGIS 10 SDE and the tool worked as expected. Sounds like a permissions issue perhaps. Do you have read/write permissions on the FDS? Robert LeClair Esri-Denver

Zareh, You cannot edit features classes in a geometric network. NVE is allowed for simpled data only - points, lines, polygons, annotation, and relationships. Basically, anything that participates in geodatabase behaviors cannot be edited in NVE. With that set, if you unregistered your Feature Dataset as Versioned then the data becomes "simple" again and then you can edit the data. Please see the following URL for details: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisserver/10.0/help/arcgis_server_dotnet_help/index.html#//009300001634000000 Regards, Robert LeClair Esri-Denver

Daniel - Google Base map imagery is a much requested addition to the Base Map gallery and has been added to the ArcGIS Ideas webpage. It's currently marked as "Under Consideration." Hi Timothy - this sounds like NIM046033 - http://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/role/beta10_1/TklNMDQ2MDMz It was found in Version 9.3.1 and was rejected by Development as a "known limit." I would recommend going to http://ideas.arcgis.com to add this as an idea for future development. Vote early - vote often... Hope this helps. Robert LeClair Esri-Denver
