Did you upgrade the annotation using ArcGIS Pro by chance? If so, then it will not be recognized in ArcMap at all.

What is your license level? Editing annotation requires a Standard or Advanced license.

For those experiencing long load times in 2.0 vs. 1.4, I would strongly recommend contacting Esri Support Services at 1-888-377-4575 as this, from my experience, is not normal behavior. I've been opening many *.aprx's in 2.0 and have not experienced any latency whatsoever. Sounds like something else is going on here...

Understand Matthew - there is an ArcGIS Idea for what you'd like to do already on GeoNet if you'd like to contribute your vote. The more votes there are, the more the idea grabs the attention of the Pro Development Team.

From an Esri Support Services call - "It is by design that you cannot make a folder connection to the entire C drive (or any other root drive) in ArcGIS Pro > http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/projects/connect-to-a-folder.htm This is due to performance issues--such as having all of the default folders on you C drive into Pro when they will never be used and using resources, etc. Just one folder down into a root drive (ex. C:\Desktop) would work." Hope this helps!

I too am working with ArcGIS Pro 2.0 and do not see Construct Polygons for the Modify Features Pane. I suspect it will be in 2.1 end of 2017 if I read the tea leaves correctly.

True with the 21 day trial but if you want to explore the ArcGIS for Personal Use, you do get both ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro for $100 per year (in addition to other items). Caveat to this purchase is it's only for personal use and not commercial gain.

David - Yes, you can use a Mosaic Dataset as an elevation surface in Pro. A couple things... In the Scene properties, click Elevation Surface and Add a New Surface -> your MDS. Remove the Esri Elevation Service by clicking the red X next to it in the first Elevation Sources and Click OK. In your 2D and 3D layers, go to the layer properties of each and select Elevation. For Features are: select "On a Custom Elevation Surface and select your Mosaic Dataset. Your 2D and 3D features should no loner be flat as it were. With this being said, my MDS is still flat as well so I just turned it off and used the Basemaps in 3D. Hope this helps! Regards, Robert

In addition to Asrujit and Kevin's comments, you can set the Results Management for Geoprocessing History to a certain time period if you like. Go to the Geoprocessing Menu in ArcMap and click Geoprocessing History. Under Results Management, change the "Keep results younger than:" parameter to a choice of days, weeks, months, never save or never delete.

Michael - have you purchased ArcGIS Desktop? If not, you must first purchase the software from Esri and then you'll have the ability to install the software on your desktop/laptop. With regard to your account, did you create a ArcGIS Online Public Account to create simple maps?

As a fellow ArcInfo Workstation veteran, I have seen the evolution of GIS software from Workstation->ArcView->ArcGIS Desktop->ArcGIS Pro over the last 25 years or so. This current phase of migration from one Desktop mapping application to a newer model is really not new and has occurred 2-3 times. What is different in this case is ArcMap has been with us for a very long time - 1999 to present. 18 years public release, 20 years if you add in development time. ArcView GIS was only with us for what 5-6 years? ArcGIS Pro is a modern GIS application that is very close to ArcMap equivalency. It will get there soon and then go well beyond ArcMap capabilities. In my opinion, ArcMap really wasn't usable for me until 8.3 and really didn't hit it's stride until 9.2. My favorite saying in life - "the only constant is change..."

Understand - thx. So according to this link, it's been implemented in ArcGIS Pro, Collector but not ArcMap. I suspect it won't be implemented in ArcMap as most Desktop development is occurring in ArcGIS Pro.
