Okay two other items I'm seeing on the Support Site is "adding an exception in the server firewall" as it could be blocking the client machine to access the server machine. And two, enabling TCP/IP address for a port (they were using 1433) and specifying the instance name in the database connection instead of an IP address. If those don't work, then I recommend contacting Esri Support Services at 888-377-4575.

Okay - a few things I've seen to troubleshoot Uninstall the SQL Server ODBD Driver 13; try to connect again. What is the status? Have any of the DB servers gone done? If so, restart and try to connect again. What is the status? Restart the SQL Server instance; try to connect again. What is the status?

Kyle - so the error message only appears while in ArcCatalog but not ArcMap, correct? And to confirm, you're using ArcMap 10.5, SQL Server 2012 (SP 3) 64-bit, installed the SQL client and MS ODBC Driver for SQL client 13?

One thing I would recommend is updating your GPU video driver. Go to Device Manager->Display Adapters and note the make/model of your video card. Go to the manufacturers website, download and install the latest driver. Does the issue persist?

There's an enhancement request for this workflow - not sure of it's status. ENH-000114278 : ArcGIS Pro - Ability to grab a vertex(edit with Map topology) and able to move the edges at the same time which is share with the vertex to the new location.

Correct. If you want to move a topological node, the workflow may be found here. If you're looking to move a vertex that is shared, then click Vertices in the Reshape group, click Edge in the Edit Vertices pane, select an edge. All vertices are visible and can be move. Click the Green check on the toolbar located at the bottom of your map view to commit the edit. Then click Save.

On the Edit core tab, click the Modify command in the Features group to open the Modify Features pane. In the Modify Features pane, click the Reshape command under the Reshape group. In the Reshape pane, click Edge and then select a topological edge or node. Reshape the feature as you wish. All topologically shared features should update accordingly.

I believe so - once SP3 is installed, try to create an enterprise geodatabase again. Also confirm you have MS ODBC Driver for SQL client installed too (11, 13, or 13.1).

For ArcGIS 10.5, MS SQL Server 2012 SP3 (64-bit) is the supported RDBMS so I would recommend checking that AND seeing if the correct SQL Server client in installed. For SQL Server 2012, the supported clients may be found here.

One way that comes to mind: Convert your Rivers polygon to a raster using the Feature to Raster GP tool. The FIELD parameter will assign the cell value to the raster. This could be a "dummy" field in the feature class calc'ed to one for example. Then run the Mosaic to New Raster GP tool. The first input could be your DENSITY raster. The second input is your Lakes raster. For the MOSAIC OPERATOR parameter, this could be set to FIRST. So wherever the 2 rasters overlap, the value from the first raster, DENSITY, is used for the output cells in the new output raster dataset. If there is no overlap, then cell values are derived from the DENSITY and LAKES raster respectively. Then add your new raster dataset to a map and symbolize accordingly. The dummy cell values for the lake are blue and other density cell values get their red color ramp colors. Should work!
