Funny you mention this - I already am working on it and have an email out to one of the AGP team today to see if I can find an answer for you. More to come.

Not sure why it's never been an issue before but AGP and ArcMap are totally different applications from two different eras in software development. This would be better answered by an AGP Developer than I.

Very true Joshua - in the Help for this topic it's stated "Reindexing should occur at a time that makes the most sense for your work schedule and a specific computer. If your laptop is generally turned off in the evening, or doesn't have access to enterprise resources because it is disconnected from the network, it doesn't make sense to schedule reindexing for midnight on that computer. If you use ArcGIS Pro on that computer most of the day, try scheduling updates during your lunch hour or during a meeting that occurs regularly."

Not a problem - keep on asking questions! So my thought process is the v108 folder is for the ArcMap/ArcCatalog 10.8.0 release and the v10 is for the ArcMap/ArcCatalog 10.0 to 10.7 releases. So if you're not using ArcMap 10.8.0 then you can still use the contents of the extracted data/*.mxd.

Kind of...I created an *.mpk in ArcMap and placed it in a temporary folder. Then I used 7Zip to extract the data. It created an overall folder of the map document name. Inside the folder, there is an esriinfo folder, a v10 folder and a v108 folder. When I ran the Extract Package GP tool into another folder, it created only the v10 and v108 folder but not the esriinfo folder. In the esriinfo folder is a thumbnail folder, a item.pkinfo file and a iteminfo.xml file. So slight differences it would seem.

Keith - I found an ArcUser article from December 2018 that discusses additional settings for the Hillshade function in AGP that you could set to nearly mimic the ArcMap "hillshade effect."

In ArcMap or ArcCatalog, you can run the Extract Package geoprocessing tool to determine the location to extract the contents of the Map Package. Once extracted, you will see *.mxds and data. You can open the *.mxd's in ArcMap and work with them. Depending on how the Map Package was created, there is a Schema_Only parameter that if checked extracts the schema/structure of the attribute table but not the data. Not sure what was set.

Sounds like your indexing on the 😧 drive is becoming stale daily. I'd recommend you go to the ArcGIS Pro->Options->Indexing and check the radio button "Update even if you are signed out of the computer." AGP will prompt you for your Scheduling Index Credentials. Then when you log out of AGP daily, the scheduled index (by default) will run every hour starting at midnight. When you log in to AGP in the morning, your D drive should be current.

Jamal - you need to explore the Layout options on the ModelBuilder-Diagram Group. With Flip Orientation set in the Orientation group, click "Horizontal Sort Descending" in the Sub-Graph dropdown and then click Auto Layout. Afterwards, you will see my AGP Modelbuilder matches your 3rd ArcMap graphic.

Donald - attached is my screen shot of Extract by Attributes. My input in an integer raster dataset. When you build the query (i.e. value > 100) are adding the clause to the tool? I can see my VALUES but I could just type in the VALUE if I wanted to. What is your input raster dataset? Floating point or integer? It will work for both types.

Try this - open up the Recover File Geodatabase GP tool referenced here. What is the result? Does it now respond?

This is also a great diagnostic tool - ArcGIS Diagnostic Monitor - you can use in ArcGIS Pro to see what response times are with all kinds of inputs/outputs - click CTRL-ALT-M to open it. You can read more about it here.

One way I can see doing this is copy/paste your original layer with the youngestAge symbology to your existing Map View. Then in the newly pasted layer, go to the Layer Properties and create a Definition Query where weight<100. Then for the symbology change it to single symbology and choose the 10% simple hatch symbol from the Gallery. This layer will draw on top of your youngestAge layer. See my attached graphic for something similar.

Quite simply - it shouldn't. My *.gdb response rates are very fast with local *.gdb's. I wonder if your *.gdb is corrupt? One way to test is create a new file geodatabase on disk, copy/paste some feature classes to the new *.gdb. What is the response rate? Also, are you accessing your *.gdb's on a network?
