We have a WMS layer that comes from an ESRI service. Basically we just published it as a WMS service. We had done this in the past and all worked fine. Now, we have the labels in the legend showing truncated on the right. This is how we retrieve the legend: MapServer/WMSServer?request=GetLegendGraphic%26version=1.1.1%26format=image/png%26layer=1 We retrieve the legend the same way in both cases, yet the result is different. We think that there is a setting somewhere causing that. Any ideas what can cause this? I am attaching the result of both calls for you to see. thanks

That's a Silverlight Viewer library, so might be better to post the question of the Viewer forum. LOL...ok, that was my original thought, too. That's why I asked if it was an ArcGIS Silverlight API property :). I figured that the question was answered regardless (I think; I'm not a Silverlight Viewer user), so why worry.....

Thanks for your reply, very helpful. You mentioned creating my own client side projection. I tried that but I could not figure out the correct math equations. All my data is in NAD27, Spatial reference 4267 and I need to project it to WebMercator, Spatial reference 102100 to go in the map. It would be interesting to know how you figure out your own if you can share, where did you find the math equations, etc. thanks!! There was alot of available equations in my case as I need to convert from UTM to wgs84. You can check Proj.Net as it offers projection from NAD27 to wgs84 (4326) the you can convert to WebMercator, but you need to test the results carefully to insure correct transformation process.

The projection service does perform batching (but will group by geometry type). However it's NOT recommended to rely on the projection service to project large amounts of geometry. Instead it's better to create/retrieve the geometries in the correct spatial reference to begin with.

well, I think I just found one... if the map is not focusable then it does not zoom in/out ... anything else? Although that by itself defeats the purpose of the map if the user cannot get pretty close to an specific area.

I think you could keep the current position before calling Initialize.Something like: var pos = mapControl1.map1.Layers.Count;
dLayer.Initialized += (a, b) =>
{
mapControl1.map1.Layers.Insert(pos, dLayer);
};
dLayer.Initialize();

Is there a way to reposition the Tip window? That may help too. It seems that the Tip displays under the HTML; but if the FrameworkElement is reposition to the left of the border then it should work just fine.

The answer to this is to use the Silverlight toolkit (Silverlight 4) and that implements a Context menu with MenuItem, Menu Separators and all the stuff needed. If there is a different way to do it; please, feel free to point it out. Thanks!

Original User: lgarcia3 I found something HERE about buffer areas that look similar to what I want to do. Any one familiar with this buffer area? Anyone knows if this could help me solve my problem? Thanks!
