I want to interactively review and resolve all differences between a child version and Default (it's parent). This includes point/line/polygon features, geodatabase tables with relationships, and geodatabase attachments. By default the Versioning toolbar provides the ability to resolve conflicts interactively, but I'm interested in doing this for all differences and not only for conflicts. Can Data Reviewer help with this, including with differences in related geodatabase tables? (It seems to only work with geometric data, is that correct?) Scenario: field crews will be insert/update/deleting data via Collector app. Office staff needs to validate all edits before they go into the Default version. I'd like the office staff to be able to easily click through all differences on a row-by-row basis and either reject or accept the feature in the child version. Thank you, Tobias

Loai, One alternative you could try is to use an ArcMap Query Layer and then publish that as a layer in your map service. That has worked for me before.

Thanks Chris. Last time I looked at ArcGIS Data Reviewer as an option it didn't deal well with the non-spatial aspects (related geodatabase tables and attachment tables). Maybe it's time for me to take another look at it, though.

Hi. I'm somewhat new to Geodatabase Versioning, so I'm wondering how others do this: I want to interactively review and resolve all differences between a version and Default. This includes point/line/polygon features, geodatabase tables with relationships, and geodatabase attachments. Scenario: field crews will be insert/update/deleting data via Collector app. Office staff needs to validate all edits before they go into the Default version. The only solution I can think of so far is to make an edit to all data in Default just before reconcile and post (e.g. insert current datetime into a date field set up solely for this purpose) . That way all the edits in versions other than default will show as conflict. I'm sure there are better ways to do this. Are there? I'd much appreciate any suggestions. Thank you! (geodatabase version 10.3)

Thanks for your reply Todd. Sorry I never got you any screenshots so far, but what you describe in #2 is the workflow I'm following - as far as I know that's the only way to edit a related table in collector. With some feature services and feature classes it works as expected and with some it doesn't. I'll have to spend some more time troubleshooting to figure out what is required for 1:M relationships to behave correctly. I believe there isn't much in terms of documentation and known issues.

When I insert a record into a related table via Collector my foreign key value is not auto-populated, as this blog and the comments suggests. Any suggestions for where to start troubleshooting this, or how to configure this correctly? The relationship class is based on a GlobalID field and a field of type GUID. The above referenced blog states "foreign key should be set to a new, unique GUID field." What is meant by a unique GUID field? In a 1:M relationship the foreign key field cannot be constrained to unique values, or else it would be a 1:1 relationship. My setup: ArcGIS Server 10.3, Geodatabase 10.3 Oracle 11g, web map with 1 versioned point feature class, a related table, and attachments. Pretty much as simple as it can get. Thank you!

Nicolas, yes, it is possible to make a Story Map public, embedded as well as just by itself. You need to share all the resources the web map uses (i.e. feature services , basemaps, etc.), the web map itself, and your Story Map application publicly (vs. keeping their status "Private" or shared only with your organization or a group).

Hi Jason, identical experience here regarding publishing and folder-creation behavior. If you don't mind me asking, what are you using to store your config-store and server directories? Does it happen to be an Isilon device? Thanks, Tobias

To add to this: to use Collector against a web map you need to authenticate to an ArcGIS organizational account or portal. This is not the case with the Geoform.

I think this question requires some more information to troubleshoot: 1. You update domains in the geodatabase. Can you confirm that the updated list of values is available in an ArcMap editing session? 2. You re-published/overwrote the feature service. Can you confirm that the updated list of values is available at the REST url of the feature service? 3. You still have that feature service as a layer in a webmap. Can you confirm that the updated list of values is available in an ArcGIS Online mapviewer editing session? 4. If you now refresh Collector, open the same webmap, and the updated list is not available in the Collector app's webmap this discussion is in the right Geonet "Place" and should be addressed by the Collector team. If you can't confirm point 1,2, or 3, then this issue is not caused by Collector and should be moved to a different "Place". Hope this helps. Tobias

I think the only way to achieve this is to create more than one web map, and share them with different groups. The webmaps can still reference some of the same services. I'm curious as to why you'd like it to be one single webmap.

I would argue that coded value domains should in most cases be designed with code=description. So in your case, it would 'Yes'-'Yes', 'No'-'No'. From a computing point of view there are advantages to using integers like 0 and 1, and if it is a subtype field it needs to be an integer field as well. Those are valid arguments for integers. However, it has been my experience that using code=description avoids a whole lot of oddities that you will otherwise keep running into again and again (e.g. Export to shapefile it is nice to end up with the actual values; ArcGIS Online drop down lists is nice to see the actual values consistently across apps and devices; ArcPad .axf tables is nice to see the actual values; Python cursors is nice to deal with the actual values; etc.... it juts saves you some headaches all across the board.) If anyone has a different opinion I would be very interested in learning more.

If you are writing via ArcGIS Server to SDE geodatabase you could use SQL triggers to email ...not sure how difficult it would be to push to social media that way.

Marianne, It used to be that if your webmap contained Map Services (MS) as well as Feature Services (FS), the MS could not be moved above the FS. Not sure whether that is still the case, or whether that even applies to your webmap. Just an idea... Can you post the urls to the 4 layers you are working with?
