Ah, that's easy. Use comp(f), and then comp.index to assign rules. Building --> comp(f) { 0: FacadeRule | 1 : RoofRule .. } Note that the face indices may be scrabled up. Note also that to create facades correctly, you may need to align the scope. e.g. with alignScopeToGeometry(zUp, any, world.lowest) matt

Hi ! I assume you use CE2013.1, right ? There were some import bugs in CE2013. Try: import imp : "import.cga" (height = height) the first height is the imported rule's attr value, which then is set to the main rule's value (2nd value). This should work. matt

Hi, we fixed something in this regard some time ago and it's most certainly fixed with CE2014.0 which should arrive quite soon. Sorry for the inconvenience ! Matt

Nope, this is now allowed .. 🙂 As you guessed. But you can contact Esri and ask if they let you use the materials officially. Send me a PM with your mail address and I can forward your inquiry to the appropriate people to start the discussion. OK ? Matt

Hi, then you did not understand the scope. 🙂 The FirstEdge DEFINES the orientation of the scope (x axis). 'Front' 'back', .. are all terms relative to the scope. So, the FirstEdge DEFINES 'front', 'back', .. Try: alignScopeToGeometry(yUp, any, longest) Note that you can either rotate the scope by 90 degrees ( as you did ) .. or just split differently in x/z. ok ?

Hey John, WebScenes will get an API (java script), but it's not yet ready. It'll take at least until Q3. We've had to postpone this further behind because of different reasons. For now, there's no way to set these things programmatically. You may try to dive into the code of the WebViewer CE installs, but this is not technically supported and at your own risk. Matt

Hi ! If you look closely at the topology that shapeO() creates (7 key, wireframe on shaded), you notice it's not yet producing actual holes, rather an open topology with an 'edge loop' that cuts the hole open. On this topology, roofs may fail in CE 2013. Please stay tuned for CE 2014.0. Though, not all related issues will be solved with this release. Sorry for the 'mixed' news .. Ok ? Matt

Hi ! Well, one limitation of CGA is different 'branches' in the Model Hierarchy cannot query each other. When you branch off both Parcel Envelope and creation of footprint, those shapes have no more 'knowledge' of the existence of the other shapes. Means there's not really a way to do this currently in CGA due to missing queries of this kind. Options: - Set an attribute for each building manually (well .. ) - Use some hack with occlusion queries. [ Though this is most probably going to give you more heachaches. ] How many buildings to you need to 'design' this way ? matt
