Hi Crispin. Then I'd recommend to create the buildings based on CGA code directly within ArcScene ( 10.2 ) with the new GP Tool for this. CityEngine 2013 was just released, so you can use that one to create the 'Rule Packages' that are needed to run the GP tool. There's also a second GP tool that directly creates a WebScene based on the ArcGIS scene. So basically, CityEngine is only needed to author the rules and create the RPK. As long as the resulting pipelines are MultiPatches, you can also export them ( together with the buildings ) in a WebScene. ok ? matt

hi, with the new 3.0 release of the WebScenes, you should now have (limited) support for IE 11. check some details here: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#/Troubleshoot_CityEngine_Web_Viewer/010q000000p0000000/ have fun ! matt

of course you can extrude 'downwards', you just need to reverse the normal again. otherwise, you can also extrude upwards, then move the whole thing down. these things are all possible in CGA. I guess you did not yet play around with CGA, right ? in that case, I recommend you watch the video version of tutorial 6 here: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/64843-CityEngine-Collection-RESOURCES-FAQ-HELP let me know if this helps. matt

Hi, even though that CityEngine does not have a proper solution for converting 'networks' ( attributed 3d lines ) into nice geometry ( though that's planned ), many of these things can be done in CityEngine. I assume you want to visualize such data in 3d ? matt

hi, of course you can exchange the trees with different ones. but that needs editing the CGA code, basically exchanging the assets and the paths to them. otherwise, in CityEngine 2013, there's now a very nice tree library available that you may want to use. concerning the building rule, the base is the 'GIS-driven-buildings' rule in the Philly example. But I think I've never seen the parcelling rule for that. please check tutorial 9 ( Mass Modeling ). there, you find all that you need to recreate it based on your own needs. ok ? matt

Hi, if textures cannot be found, then either the CGA code to define the texture path is wrong or the textures are not in the right place. make sure your texture path is correct. maybe use print() to debug the issue. comment out all the code that you don't need. just work with the very basics you need. the other issue with 2 CGA files with the same in different projects: that would be a bug. are you absolutely sure you dont' edit the same file just because it remains open when you open a different scene ? can you provide a very simple reproduction ? that would be very helpful. lemme know .. m.

well, for the data, just pack the stuff in a GDB and import it in CityEngine. the terrain itself, copy it over as a raster file to CityEngine and import it there.. not sure if this is clear or not clear .. did you look through the documentation ( Help > Manual ) inside CityEngine concerning shape / graph segment import ? matt
