Hi, CityEngine ports all attributes that are defined on a feature, but you don't necessarily need to work with these in CityEngine. I'm not sure if you've seen the tutorial videos yet ( find them in my signature ). It's the first case you described. Each wall or door is a digitized, attributed shape which in CityEngine gets just 1 'extrusion' rule that works based on the attributes. E.g. if you have a floor polygon, it won'd be extruded, while a wall polygon is extruded to the roomHeight attribute. Makes sense ? 🙂 matt ... View more

Hi, Thanks for that wish. I'll add this to the wishlist as it makes sense to have that somehow documented also in the CE-docs. The differences between OBJ and DAE are mainly related to exporting models. The biggest difference is that DAE supports instancing. Otherwise, materials are handled slightly better ( a bit more features ). But if used as assets, both are equal. Ok ? Matt ... View more

Hi, There's still no 'labels' in CityEngine and there won't be for the near future. What you can do is use CGA to create a rule that creates some labels as 3d models. But of course it depends a bit on what you need on those labels .. Do you have some more info ? Let me know .. matt ... View more

Hi ! The panorama textures and reflection maps ( seen only if the material has shininess and reflectivity activated ) are stored in the ce.lib project. [The ce.lib project is a bit special and by default not visible within CityEngine] Just select the panorama layer, then browse for some other images. You can of course also create your own.. Ok ?
