I am having a similar issue. I search for a line feature, then go to the Spatial Search to select parcels with a given distance, but they are not listed in the drop-down. I have the Parcel layer set to <spatialsearchlayer>true</spatialsearchlayer>. Not sure what the issue is. At first I thought the parcel layer wasn't on or at a visible scale, but that was not the case. How do I go about getting the dropdown for "Search Entities of:" populated? Right now, I have one layer on the Text Search tab and the user can pick one of the features within that layer from a dropdown populated using "uniquevalsfromfield". Then, I want them to be able to use the Spatial Search tab to be able to specify a buffer and choose a different layer (from a choice of two) and select any entities of that chosen layer that are within the buffer. Ideally, they would have the option to select "all" so that either of the two layers within the buffer are selected Select instance of proposed linear project > Buffer linear project a specified distance > Select buildings, observation points, or both Here is the code I have now that successfully creates the Text Search tab for proposed linear projects, and creates the Spatial Search tab but with only the proposed linear projects layer in the "Search Entities of" dropdown. Thanks for any help you can provide. <layer> <token/> <definitionexpression/> <enableexport>true</enableexport> <name>Proposed Project Search</name> <url>http://152.1.13.55/arcgis/rest/services/NERI/GIS550_Midterm_FeatureService_V1/MapServer/2</url> <expressions> <expression alias="Proposed Project Search" isvaluerequired="true"> <values> <value prompt="Choose a Project - Example: test1" uniquevalsfromfield="project_name" isvaluerequired="true" autosubmit="false" operator="AND">project_name = '[value]'</value> </values> </expression> </expressions> <graphicalsearchlabel>Use one of the graphical search tools to select Proposed Project</graphicalsearchlabel> <spatialsearchlayer>true</spatialsearchlayer> <titlefield>Proposed_Project</titlefield> <fields all="false"> <field name="project_name" alias="PROJECT NAME" visible="true"/> </fields> <links/> <zoomscale usegeometry="true" zoompercent="1.2"/> <autoopendatagrid>true</autoopendatagrid> <queryattachments>false</queryattachments> <relates/> <symbology> <picturemarkersymbol url="assets/images/i_target.png" height="18" width="18" xoffset="0" yoffset="0"/> </symbology> </layer>

Awesome. Thx. Derek, Not exactly, but you could place it in a panel in the main config.xml: <widgetcontainer paneltype="left" initialstate="open" size="300">
<widget label="Map Contents"
config="widgets/eLayerList/eLayerListWidget.xml"
url="widgets/eLayerList/eLayerListWidget.swf"/>
</widgetcontainer>

Myself not being a programmer, I am wondering if it is possible to have the eLayerList span (in height) the browser from below the FV header?

Oops, my mistake! Yes, 2.5. I didn't realize that was a built in capability. I was trying to make that much more difficult! Has anyone compiled this for 3.2 and above?

Monty, You definitely have me confused... The autoswitchtoscale and forcescaleonswitch are associated with the Enhanced Basemap switcher what does this have to do with the TOC Widget? What are you talking about: Are you meaning the "zoom to" or "zoom to make visible" in the TOC popup menu? Sorry wrong post. I will repost in eMapSwitcher or eSearch. My question is: how to make eSearch widget honor autoswitchtoscale when you click on the results and it zooms in?

I realize we can control the zoom percentage, but is the a way to get zoom (when clicking on result) to honor autoswitchto set in main config?

Monty, So help to understand: Are you saying the viewer that is not displaying the legends is a external/public viewer? Can you access the REST Service url form outside you intranet? It is external. I can access it outside our network with proper credentials. When I log in to the REST service off the network, I enter my password (same one users enter off network) and I can access and see the Legend....very strange. Could it be some kind of interaction between widgets?

Monty, So earlier when you said you did not really mean that and you were only reffering to having the Web Adaptor installed...? You did not click on the padlock icon in ArcGIS Server manager and edit the service security? No. We are using Web Adaptor and we did edit service security through AGS Manager.

Monty, Do you have the ArcGIS Service directory diabled? We are talking about ArcGIS Server 10.1 right? Do you have a sp1 installed? Services Directory is enabled....we are at AGS 10.1 sp1. We have internal viewers that use feature services that display the swatches, screenshot attached.

Monty, What exactly do you mean by Are you using a proxy? Are you using security through tokens? Are you using SSL? Are you saying that even when you manually expand the toc items that there is no legend swatches? We are using the AGS Web Adapter, no tokens, no ssl, and yes even when I expand manually there are no swatches. Attached screenshot.

Monty, You can set it this way: <expanded everything="true">true</expanded>
<collapselegends>false</collapselegends> I had it as and it still will not show the legend: <tocsettings> <expanded everything="true">true</expanded> <collapselegends>false</collapselegends> <disablezoomtomenuoption>true</disablezoomtomenuoption> </tocsettings> We have security enabled through AGS for the map service, so I tried the same with the 3.15 version since it said it dealt with showing legends in secure services. No change though.

No matter what values I set for Expand Everything or Collapse Legend, I cannot get Legend to show. At first I thought that my presence of Groups were causing issues. But I removed everything from the groups and the issue persisted. Can someone tell me definitively what combination of settings causes everything including the symbology of the legend to be visible?
