Rob, GEP 10.2.1 ships with httpclient 4.2. If you need an older version, you'll need to drop it's jar files into GEP's deploy folder. This may become an iterative process as the older jar files may also require other jar files that aren't available with GEP 10.2.1--so you may have to drop its dependencies into the the deploy folder as well. To summarize: 1) Build your processor using the 4.0 dependencies in your pom.xml file. 2) Drop your custom jar along with httpclient 4.0 (and dependencies) into GEP's deploy folder. Hopefully this works, if it doesn't there are ways of build jar files that contain all of their dependencies you can use. -Javier

Will try to answer some of the questions from your PDF here. We have the option to use a token because some ArcGIS Servers require tokens while others don't. We don't know that when registering the connection. Furthermore, some servers may have some folders/services that are publicly viewable while some are restricted. In these cases, users need the ability to use or not use a token to access the services on their ArcGIS Server. When choosing the ID/password to enter on the token generation page, enter the credentials for an account that can access the service you want to consume or update. Additionally, set the Expiration to the length of time to the duration you want your DataStore to be valid. If you mouse-over the red icon in the ArcGIS data store window, what message do you see? This should give you a hint as to why GEP is having trouble accessing the services. -Javier

Dennis, The only mode of authentication supported by GEP at 10.2.1 for Servers and Portals is token based authentication. We do not support any of the other various forms of authentication protocols supported by Web Browsers (like NTLM, Basic, Digest, or PKI). If your WebAdaptor installation requires that (as it seems to), then you cannot configure GEP access to go through the WebAdaptor. If both GEP and your ArcGIS Server sit behind the firewall, then you should configure GEP to talk directly to your ArcGIS Server using a token obtained using the browser. The ArcGIS datastore registration dialog will show you the link to visit and get a token. You'll need to ensure you copy the referrer exactly as it appears in the registration dialog (beware of copying/pasting whitespace), otherwise GEP will not be able to talk with your ArcGIS Server. -Javier

DG, Sorry the delay in responding. GEP never supported any type of authentication other than username/password to retrieve tokens in 10.2. Going through WebAdaptor was not supported at 10.2. For 10.2.1, you should register a connection entering the URL that allows GEP to ask your ArcGIS Server what it uses to generate tokens. So if your WebAdaptor doesn't allow requests to generate tokens, then you can't use that URL. During registration, after entering the URL set "Do you with to use token?" to "Yes" and enter the URL to your ArcGIS Server. If it's the correct URL, you'll see a section pop up telling you where to get a token from. Do you see this? -Javier

Chen, Is HttpClient the external component you're trying to use? If so, GEP ships with HttpClient 4.2. To use the version that ships with GEP, add the following bock of XML to your pom.xml under /project/dependencies node: <dependency> <groupId>org.apache.httpcomponents</groupId> <artifactId>httpclient</artifactId> <version>4.2</version> </dependency> Rebuild your jar file using mvn and redeploy the jar file. That should allow you to use HttpClient. If you need a more recent version of HttpClient, then you'll need to drop all of the HttpClient jars and its dependencies into the product's deploy folder (C:/Program Files/ArcGIS/Server/GeoEventProcessor/deploy/). Let us know if this gets you any further along. -Javier

Yinghong, Yes GEP Manager runs on a separate port than ArcGIS Server Manager. On your other machine, chances are you're connecting to port 6080 or 6443. As for the certificate, installing it only marks it as trusted on the client you're visiting the Manager with. So if you switch to a different machine or browser when connecting, you'll have to mark it as trusted on that client as well. When installing, did you get the dialog confirming that you'd added a certificate to your certificate store? An alternative is to replace the certificate installed with GEP to one issued by a Certificate Authority (CA) marked as trusted by your Browsers (either a public commercial CAor an internal one hosted by your IT department). Instructions for doing that are here. -Javier

Yinghong, If you can access Manager on the installed machine, then the most likely reason you can't access it from another machine is because a firewall is blocking your request. First off, if running GEP on a Windows OS ensure that machine's firewall allows incoming connections on ports 6180 and 6143 (you might have to add a firewall rule). Then make sure your network firewall is allowing you to connect to the system where GEP is installed. -Javier

Luis, It is possible that your browser has cached the the request to get the list of Transports. Refreshing the Manager with (Ctrl+Shift+r) should force a re-fetch of the transports. At that point, your transport should not show up anymore. Let us know if this solves your issue. -Javier

Tom, I haven't seen this error before. Looking at the stack trace, it seems like it's failing to decrypt the password for one of your ArcGIS Server connections. Can you try opening up the file in an XML or Text editor and comment out the section with the node arcgisServerConnections and then trying to re-import the configuration? -Javier PS Would you mind sharing the configuration with us to so that we can try and figure out what's going on?

Matt, GeoEvent Processor (GEP) not being able to update the feature when configured with an administrator account has to do with AGOL's security policy and/or the settings of the feature service you're writing to. GEP doesn't distinguish between the roles, it merely uses the credentials to send the requests and the decision to allow or reject the operation ultimately lies with AGOL. -Javier

Ken, Can you look at the XML for your Adapter Definition and make sure it's well-formed? The EOFException makes me think the XML parser was looking for more content as it tried to parse the XML. Once we figure out what is causing loading of the adapter to fail, we can figure out why the GEP service won't start correctly. -Javier

Chunjie, Using Firefox, export the certificate to a file. Then use Java's keytool to import the certificate into the cacerts file used by GeoEvent Processor's JRE. On the machine where you're running GeoEvent Processor, do the following: NOTE: GEP_INSTALL_DIR defaults to C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Server\GeoEventProcessor unless you changed the install location for Server. cd <GEP_INSTALL_DIR>\jre\lib\security <GEP_INSTALL_DIR>\jre\bin\keytool -import -trustcacerts -alias <ALIAS FOR YOUR CERT> -file <PATH TO FILE EXPORTED FROM FIREFOX> -keystore cacerts When prompted for a password enter "changeit" After restarting GeoEvent Processor, you should be able to connect to the site. But I must warn you that Portal connections are not supported at 10.2.0. So even if you can successfully create an https connection, you might not be able to register the connection to your portal. Portal integration will be available in the next release of GeoEvent Processor. -Javier
