Hi, Yes I agree the voxel layer is designed to visualize a volume and this is just a cross-section so really the best route is to just visualize it as a vertical raster. I'm not sure though if there are any limitations with visualizing a vertical raster so let me reach out to the raster team to confirm. thanks, Andrew

Hi, I tried on two separate computers and it displayed on both. You may want to check the graphics driver and ensure it's up to date on the machine where it's not visualizing. Looking at this dataset there are a lot of NaN values which is problematic when trying to visualize this as a voxel layer. I also tested on a 3rd party viewer and there it doesn't even draw so I think the best path forward is to fill in these NaN values with legit values. I'm not familiar with matlab so i cannot give you guidance there. I can point you to various tools to interpolate your data. Here's some learn lessons that you may want to take a quick look to see if this works for your case. https://learn.arcgis.com/en/projects/visualize-and-explore-coral-reef-habitats-with-voxels/ https://learn.arcgis.com/en/projects/explore-and-animate-geological-data-with-voxels/ https://learn.arcgis.com/en/projects/visualize-ecological-marine-units-with-voxels/ https://learn.arcgis.com/en/projects/visualize-social-distancing-across-california/ let me know if you have any other questions. thanks, Andrew

Hi, I think the issue is the elevation surface is hiding the voxel layer. If you turn off the elevation surface/basemaps and zoom to layer then you see the voxel layer.

Hi, Based on the structure of this data I would definitely recommend using a voxel layer. If you can get this data into a NetCDF format then you can add it as a voxel layer in ArcGIS Pro. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/what-is-a-voxel-layer-.htm thanks, Andrew

Hi Yes, that's probably best at this point 🙂 I'm not sure what time zone you are in but i'm in the pacific time zone. My morning tomorrow is full of meetings but after 12pm i'm free and I can send you a zoom link. Let me know what works for you. thanks, Andrew

Thanks for testing on another subset. I think that narrows it down more to an issue with the LAS file JSON geometry. Without being able to review the LAS file myself unfortunately I'm not sure what else I can recommend. You may want to try and run the Convert LAS tool with all the LAS options enabled to see if that resolves the issue. Another option is you can right click on the GP tool and select Batch and then batch input to the tool and run it that way.

Hi, Thanks for sending that and I was able to successfully run that on my end with my own set of LAS files. Based on the error "Syntax error invalid JSON geometry representation" there seems to be something specific with python being able to read this specific LAS file. Are you able to share that LAS file with me too? thanks, Andrew

Hi, It looks like there's a syntax error somewhere in the script. Can you do a couple things 1. If you haven't already manually ran this through the tool please do that just to ensure the slpk is successfully created from the las file. 2. Paste your full script again with the updates I sent so I can see where this syntax error might be. thanks! Andrew

Hi, Can you try if this snippet works for you? Make sure to switch out the coordinate system/transformation etc. import arcpy
import os
path = r"C:\test\lidar"
arcpy.env.workspace = path
arcpy.env.overwriteOutput = True
for root, dirs, files in os.walk(path):
for name in files:
if name.endswith(".las"):
fullpath = os.path.join(root,name)
print(fullpath)
slpkName = os.path.splitext(name)[0]
arcpy.management.CreatePointCloudSceneLayerPackage(fullpath, out_slpk=slpkName, out_coor_system=arcpy.SpatialReference(26913), transform_method="", attributes=["INTENSITY", "RGB", "CLASS_CODE", "FLAGS", "RETURNS"], point_size_m=0, xy_max_error_m=0.01, z_max_error_m=0.01, in_coor_system="", scene_layer_version="2.x")

Hi Zakary, ArcGIS Pro 2.8 is tentatively targeted for release in May. There will be a beta release earlier than that if you're interested within the next 2-3 weeks. If you are I can send you the information to sign up when it comes out. thanks, Andrew

Hi, I just tested this workflow in ArcGIS Pro 2.8 beta 1 and I do not experience a crash so it's likely this has been fixed by the product team in 2.8. The public beta will be available in the next few weeks if you want to test that out on your end. thanks, Andrew

Hi, For the ArcGIS Pro 2.8 release, product management has decided to allow voxel layer use at all license levels so there will no longer be any licensing restrictions to display and use a voxel layer. thanks, Andrew

Hi, I saw your post in a separate idea so I thought I would post here. In ArcGIS Pro 2.7 you can 'modify' an integrated mesh (Clip, mask, replace) and then maintain those modifications to ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/modify-integrated-mesh-layer.htm In 2.8 (To be released April/May) you will be able to use the Clip tool to permanently clip an integrated mesh scene layer package.
