You probably have spaces in the field names in your excel file. If you remove the spaces in the field names and regeocode, you will get the matches you are looking for. Brad

The service that is described in this Knowledge Base Article was retired at the end of 2013 but will be completely shut down at the end of January and you should start using the new geocoding service (http://geocode.arcgis.com). Here is a link on how to set it up for batch geocoding in 10.1: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//00250000004v000000 Brad

House number needs to be part of the street field (think of it as Full Street, including house number, pre and post direction, and pre and post type). It is not supported to have a separate field for house number. Brad

There is really no bug to fix, it is a default feature. By default, searching without zones is not turned on. If you open the locator properties dialog and go to the "Geocoding options" section, just change the "Match with no zones" property to "Yes". This should solve your problem. Brad

At ArcGIS 10, we have a new geocoding engine and a lot of things work differently then at 9.x. You shouldn't have an issue matching to that intersection just because the address is standardized with "South" as opposed to "S". Can you give me some more detail? Brad

You will need to create an ArcGIS Server connection to the server and add your credentials. Integration with the ArcGIS sign-on dialog is targeted for SP2. Here is a link that describes the steps: http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/40802 Brad

I think you would be better off using a spatial join or intersect using the World Countries polygon layer from ArcGIS.com. Brad

You have 10.1 so you can open the locator properties dialog for the locator that you created and change the property "Match with no zones" to "Yes". This will allow the locator to match to addresses that don't have zones. This is set to "No" by default for performance reasons. Brad

There are usually two explanations to this issue. 1. You are getting a timeout from the server if you are hitting a geocoding service. 2. You have a bad value(s) in your input table or the input table column names have a space. 3. Your output is a shapefile and the 2 GB limit was exceeded. Brad

These properties will be exposed through the UI at 10.1 but for the time being, they have to be modified through the loc file. Brad
