Any special reason why you would want to use kriging on lidar data? Kriging will take forever when you have a large number of points and it may never finish. I would suggest you look into less memory intensive interpolators. Kernel Interpolation (with Barriers) in Geostatistical Analyst is an example of one that I have used with roughly 4 billion input points. Steve

What version of ArcGIS are you using? The Geostatistical Wizard does not output a raster, it creates a geostatistical layer which you can convert to raster, polylines or filled polygons. If you did kriging via the toolbox it means that you used the Spatial Analyst (or 3D) version. How large is the output raster? Have you tried converting the HUC10 layer into raster and use that in ZonalStatistics? - Steve

I do mean CellStatistics and a major update was made in ArcGIS 10 to control the handling of NoData, see http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Cell_Statistics/009z0000007q000000/ and in particular the section on ignore_nodata Steve

Giacomo Please contact your local distributor or Esri Support. Also try turning off "background processing", this can be done via Geoprocessing -> Geoprocessing options and then uncheck the background processing option. The reason I suggested that your data are corrupt is based on the fact that I (nor you) could open the point feature class that you provided me. Steve

To better understand the problem could you please provide me with a copy of your input data, the interpolation parameters (i.e. a screenshot of the filled out dialog). If you do not want to post it on the Forum you can email me (slynch@esri.com) Thanks Steve

April The default extension in the RasterToASCII GP tool is .txt, however, you can also use .asc These are the 2 extensions to use. If you create it using the .asc extension then it becomes a supported raster data format, i.e. you can use it in ArcGIS as any other raster dataset (no need to then use ASCIIToRaster). Please can you share a screenshot of the dialog or are you doing it via scripting. Thanks Steve

Henrik Thank you for sharing the problem. It will be fixed in 10.1 and also in 10 SP5 The problem occurs when you have a feature class with an undefined extent. To create a raster one needs an extent. FeatureToRaster and PolygonToRaster now throw an error when there is no extent. In your workflow you'll need to make a decision what to do when a feature class with no extent is created. Possible solutions include, inter alia; - stop processing, or - define an extent and in your case a output raster filled with NoData will be created. Once again, thanks Steve
