you could also skip using ASCIIToRaster and rather use the CopyRaster tool. Make sure that the ASCII file has a .asc extension and pick PixelType=64 bit

I think that initially the points were equidistant and then got projected and now the spacing varies.

Dan Yes, however, some of the conversion tools like Point, Polyline and Polygon ToRaster can create a 64 bit (double) raster. This has been the case for many years, way back in 9.2 or 9.3 I believe. The tool will decide if the output should be 32 or 64 bit. CopyRaster, on the other hand, has a parameter Esri grid format only supports 32 bit, so you'll rather have to output to fgdb, tif or img. -Steve

Use IEEE-754 Floating Point Converter and you'll soon see that 1451.623 is actually 1451.623046875 The ASCIIToRaster tool produces 32 bit rasters.

I've only seen now that you're not running it as a GP. Please try running the geoprocessing tool and supply the .asc file as input.

Dan Patterson, not an easy one to answer 🙂 and the link you could not find is to Interpolation of Data Collected along Lines I spoken with some of my colleagues and the consensus is; be careful of predicting outside the data's extent (i.e. extrapolating) possible solution is to use EBK Regression Prediction which is available in ArcGIS Pro; explore the option of supplying measurement values, if not known you could use data replication to estimate them use elevation and additional covariates like roughness index, aspect, distance to something Steve

Scott All I can say is try them all, not really, do ebk, idw, rbf and kernel, and look at the cross validation statistics and pick one that produces what you expect to see and has reasonable cv stats.

Please do the following in ArcGIS Pro - right click the raster that you created in Pro - on the Source tab, expand Raster Information - note the cell size - repeat the above using the raster you created via the Python script Are the cell size the same?, they should be. Now let us have a look at the rendering. - Click on the raster you created in Pro - on the Ribbon -> Appearance Tab click on Symbology Have a look the custom symbology that is created for the output raster when done in the app. Now do the same for the raster created via the script, it used the default renderer. You can manually change the symbology or if you click on the "Burger" button on the symbology pane you can import the symbology. -Steve
