I'm using the Raster to Geodatabase tool in 2.9.1 and I believe it's pretty slow for the raster it's processing. It just sits at 0% saying "Converting <raster name>" forever. I left it overnight and no movement. When I open the Diagnostic Monitor, Geoprocessing and Background Geoprocessing are lit up green and I see things moving in the Logs tab so I know it's doing something...just not effectively. The format of the raster I'm trying to move is a file geodatabase raster. It's uncompressed size is listed as 741 mb, so under a gig. I'm trying to move it from an FGDB to an enterprise geodatabase, so maybe internet speed is a factor? Pro is installed on my local computer, but I have to work over a VPN to access my enterprise data so that's certainly not helping anything. Is there a better way to move rasters from one geodatabase to another? Export Raster gives me the same results, slow.

AGS. Since we only host one site on the web server, we have left the bindings otherwise blank in IIS. I wonder if that's where the URL is pulled from during the registration of the web adaptor. Since nothing is there, maybe it just defaults to the server name.

Sorry I'm only now seeing this - do you have a relationship class between your points and the boundaries being drawn? That's the only way I could think to do it. The other thing about Collector though is that I don't know how to calculate in an existing database field; you can calculate a new field on the fly, but I'm not sure how to calculate an already existing field. It can probably be done, but I've never figured it out.

The solution was to use a different browser. I was originally using Chrome, but switched to Firefox and it saved. Oddly, when I opened back up Chrome the saved URLs had persisted (like expected), but I decided to change the URLs again just to see if the save button now worked in Chrome; it did. Makes no sense, but it worked for me.

I never found a solution to this, my guess would be to just unintstall enterprise altogether and reinstall it would probably work. Perhaps unfederating and re-federating would be another possible solution to try as well. My "solution" ended up being unfederating my server with portal because I realized we needed it to be unfederated anyway for other reasons.

Documentation states that you should have an option to cancel a cache job in the Job Status pane. I do not have one; I'm assuming because publishing of the map service was completed successfully so it considers the job "done" even though the cache generation is still in progress. Is the only way to kill the caching process by going into server and killing the running instances on CachingControllers and CachingTools geoprocessing services (under the System folder)?

@SavageTrimble Ohh, I see why mine is different. I was right clicking on an enterprise geodatabase feature class, not a feature dataset. The context menus for each look different. I appreciate the clarity!

@SavageTrimble Interesting. Your menu looks very different than mine when you right click on your EGDB (the screenshots I took in my last reply were me right clicking on a feature class in my EGDB, not right clicking on the actual database). I have no Manage button for the EGDB itself and I have a lot of buttons related to the general connection properties, the geodatabase connection, properties, and the geodatabase itself properties, plus many more. I wonder if it’s because ours is not branch versioned or even if we’re using a different server type (we use MSSQL Server). Ours is simply non-versioned with archiving and editor tracking enabled on specific feature classes. Thanks for the response.

@SavageTrimble - can I ask where you get that menu to pop up in your original post? When I right click on EGDB object in the catalog pane, I only get these options. Oddly, I have to click Privileges, then exit out, and then right click again on the object to get "Manage" to appear. But Manage is simply a button that opens a dialog, not a menu. I am on Pro 2.9.1

So we're late to the party and only now getting off ArcMap and moving to Pro. As such, I am publishing our services from Pro and am readying our data for offline use in Collector. We have non-versioned, archive-enabled data that is being published, however when I publish from Pro, I get a new message about replica tracking needing to be enabled for bidirectional sync. Is this something new to Pro - I did not ever have to do this when publishing from ArcMap to sync bidirectionally.

I understand you want to set the extent at a very specific set of coordinates so your solution to editing the JSON is the best at the moment, but for those who come across this thread that want a particular view, but maybe don't need anything precise (i.e. eyeballing is good enough), you can create a bookmark. Then you can click the bookmark before you save to ensure the map saves at the appropriate extent (essentially it becomes your new home button).

I have a single website in IIS on our server machine. I understand that when registering the web adaptor, it automatically chooses that website since it's the only one available. When I register the web adaptor though, I wind up with a resulting rest service URL using the CNAME of the server instead of the public-facing web domain like I would expect. For instance, these are my results: Instead of the https://CNAME/webadaptorname/rest/services URL, I was expecting https://www.mywebsite.com/webadaptorname/rest/services. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter as it registers successfully and I can still reach the rest service by replacing the CNAME in the URL with the public-facing website domain, but in a past set up, I have seen that resulting URL being a public-facing website and not the server name. How would you generate the URL that way? Or would it only generate that way if you had more than one website in IIS and you had to specifically choose which to register the web adaptor with?

Turns out we had dbo owning all the data at our last MSSQL setup, so the issue was how my login was mapped. Initially my login "User" was set to my username, but we changed it to dbo and everything worked. Because we had dbo as the owner schema on all the data (formatted like <database name>.DBO.<feature class name>, this made sense. I do not have to be in a sysadmin role for this solution to work.

Whenever I try to edit the URLs in this dialog box and click "Save," the dialog box does nothing. It doesn't save or close. I am putting in the URLs like this: Portal: https://mywebsite.com/myPortalwebadaptorname Server: https://mywebsite.com/myServerwebadatorname/rest In addition, I have tried: For the portal URL, put "/home" after my Portal web adaptor name. For the server URL, I've tried leaving "rest" off the end. I've tried making it my server CNAME:6443 and my FQDN:6443 instead of my website with "/arcgis" at the end and also "/myServerwebadaptorname" instead. None of this works. The save button does not seem to function. Anyone else have this issue? I've logged in and out of the server manager too.

In ArcMap there was a checkbox where you could build the tile cache at publishing of the service. Is there a way to do that in Pro? I have "cache automatically on the server" checked on. The "using tiles from new cache" option doesn't seem to work for building a new cache though. When I publish the service using this method, it succeeds at publishing the map service (although it's empty I think because it's looking for tiles), but it fails at the end saying it could not start the caching tool, thus no tiles are created. In the arcgiscache folder, I see a folder of the name of the service I published, but there are no tiles in the "_alllayers" subfolder. The tool results say this in the last few messages Validating service definition Creating the service. Succeeded. Publishing map service succeeded. Publishing tool succeeded. Successfully completed publishing call Post-processing on the server Initializing caching process on the server Error: Problem submitting tile caching job Google searches suggest restarting the CachingControllers and CachingTools services which I have done multiple times over. I have also viewed the logs in Debug mode and it seems like something is being submitted with empty parameters: Error executing tool. Manage Map Cache Tiles Job ID: <ID name> ERROR 000735: Input Map Service or Image Service URL: Value is required ERROR 000735: Scales: Value is required ERROR 000735: Number of caching services instances: Value is required ERROR 000800: The value is not a member of RECREATE_EMPTY_TILES | RECREATE_ALL_TILES | DELETE_TILES | COMPLETE_JOB | FIX_JOB | RESUME_JOB Source: System/CachingControllers.GPServer It's calling Manage Map Cache Tiles tool which requires a cache that already exists. Mine obviously does not so the tool fails; this is why I think "using tiles from new cache" doesn't actually create a new cache at time of publishing. When I hover over that option I also see it mentioning something about "pre-cached" tiles. I have read the help section for all the tile caching tools and don't really understand how to create a cache. The way that made the most sense to me was to use the Create Map Server Cache tool to create the folders on the server and then use Manage Map Server Cache Tiles to create the tiles. It fails every time telling me there's a feature that failed to project (I'm running check geometry on the feature class now to see if it's corrupted somehow, but it's going to take hours). So, how do I create a cache? Am I on the right track? I've been trying to work through this for a day and half.
