All, I just started receiving this error on my v3.0 maps. I've been trying to resolve it the last few days without much luck. I've double-checked my links to my geometry service and those are good. I've republished the maps in case there was an issue, cleared out my temporary internet files, etc. It occurs when the user draws a graphic - either when they try to close a graphic or when they want to get measurements for a graphic. I've tried a few different things to remove the white edging I was seeing around my black labels. Actually just found this thread in the silverlight forum which helped a lot: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/16336-White-color-around-edges-of-labels-in-map-services I ended up setting the text anti-aliasing property to none, which removed the white edging that was appearing. All, I'm trying to find a legible font to use for labels and/or annotation over aerial imagery. I've tried several different fonts at this point. They are legible over the Topo and Bing Road backgrounds I'm using, but not over aerial imagery. I've tried using labels that were published within the .mxd (created service is 'dynamic', not 'feature') and I've also created an annotation layer to see if that helped resolve the issue. Can anyone provide suggestions on what to use or try? Thanks in advance! Ashley

I've got the 3.0 version of the widget working on two maps. This is the first time I've used the 3.1 version of it. I'm hoping to get all of the maps updated to the newest version of the viewer in the next few months. I've attached the .xml as a .zip for my current problem. Some additional information - I found a thread yesterday regarding this error. It had to do with having sublayers in the main config file. There was a fix available for the graphic search, but not the text search. Not sure if this is causing the problem or not. Thanks for your help! Ashley

Hi Robert, I'm using the 3.1 version of the viewer and the last version of the eSearch widget you created for that particular viewer. I am getting error 1010 on the text portion of the widget. My viewer is set up where I have a strict graphical search and a strict text search. The graphical search is working fine. I am also noticing that when I first try to search a layer in the text search, the 'search' button stays grayed out. I will change the layer and then I can do a search. That is when I get the 1010 error. Any guidance on resolving this issue would be appreciated! Ashley

I figured out the problem. I had added the updated topo layer (from The National Map) to my app. The calls to the Bing basemaps were lower in the code. For whatever reason, that affected the Bing basemaps visibility. As soon as I put them above the call to the topo layer, they were visible again. Hope this helps someone else!

All, I've just recently recompiled a map that already had a Bing Maps key and 3 Bing maps layers in use. After recompiling, my Bing layers have quit working. I've double-checked ArcServer, and it still has my Bing Maps key loaded and the Bing Maps key is listed in my config file. Any ideas how to get them back? Do I need to get a new Bing Maps key? Of note, I am still using ArcServer 10. Thanks for any help/insight! Ashley

I'd like to be able to display trackpoints and waypoints from the same GPX file at once, with differing symbology for each. I'm not a programmer, so I'm having some issues figuring this out. I've been manipulating this portion of the code, without success: var points:XMLList = gpxXML.descendants("trkpt"); I'm making the assumption I need the trackpoints and waypoints to be in the same XML list. Am I on the right track? Ashley

R_, That didn't resolve the issue. I'm still receiving an error that the GPX file is not valid. Thoughts? Ashley

All, I would like to provide widgets for our staff to add KMLs and GPX files to our maps. I have found the currently available widgets for adding KMLs and GPX files, but neither will work for us. The KML widget available will only pull web-hosted KML files. I need it to open files that are saved on a user's computer. The GPX widget has not been updated in some time and the sample widget is not operating properly. Can these capabilities be found in another widget? Ashley

When the map first opens in the viewer, I have to click on the map before I can zoom. I can zoom as soon as the map opens in older editions in the viewer. Is there a setting I need to change somewhere to allow for a user to zoom without clicking on the map first? Thanks in advance for your help! Ashley
