Use @"MapDidEndZooming" as the name argument. It needs to be a string.

The syntax is the same for all definition expressions, be it on layers or tasks (wherever supported).

Can you clarify what you mean by " retrieve *all* elements". Are you referring to all the features in that service? Or all metadata about the service?

Baskaran, To get feature types for each layer in a dynamic map service, you could create an AGSFeatureLayer for each layer. Thus, you can reuse the logic in the sample you mentioned to handle multiple feature layers. Having multiple AGSFeatureLayers may also be necessary if your application allows the user to edit features in any layer.

Even in OnDemand mode, the number of feature retrieved will be limited by the 'max record count' property of the service (For instance, the map could load at a scale at which the feature layer might try to fetch all its features in the service and run into this max limit) You could try bumping up the 'max record count' property on the service to work around this issue.

Which geocoding service are you using with the AGSLocator? Can you post the URL of that service? I suspect you may need to tweek some properties while geocoding (such as the Minimum candidate score, etc), but I need to look at the service first.

Emagee, The reason you get that warning is that your web map may contain elements such as bookmarks, slide shows, etc that are not honored by the ArcGIS app for iOS. Most of these elements are specific to ArcGIS Explorer Online. Having said that, you should be able to work with the web map even after receiving that warning. The ArcGIS app for iOS will ignore the elements it does not support, and let you work with the layers, tasks, etc in the web map. What version of the app are you using? And what happens after you receive that warning? Does the app stop responding?

No, you do not need the Mobile Extension for ArcGIS Server in order to use clients such as iPhone/iPad. These clients rely on REST webservices for ArcGIS Server services (such as map, image, geocode, geoprocessing, etc) The Mobile Extension is meant for ArcGIS Mobile clients that run on ruggedized devices.

I'm not sure if you're referring to the API or the Application for iOS. So i'll answer for both - API : ArcGIS API for iOS v1.0 supports data collection using Feature Layers. Refer to the doc for more information. At the bottom of the doc, there is a link to a sample. At v1.8, the API includes a Sketch Layer that makes it much easier for developers to create application that allow users to sketch (digitize) geometries. This can be used along with the Feature Layer to create new features or modify existing features. v1.8 is in Public Beta right now. You can access it at http://betacommunity.esri.com using your ESRI global account. Application : The ArcGIS Application for iOS v1.5 is available in the App Store. This application includes support for collecting data. The app allows you to open Web Maps that are hosted on ArcGIS.com (or your private ArcGIS Servers). The Web Map must contain atleast one Feature Layer to enable the "Collect" functionality. A number of such sample Web Maps are available. You can find them under Find Maps > Gallery > Collection Samples when you launch the app. Note, neither the API nor the App is meant as a replacement for ArcPad. ArcPad is very adept at capturing sophisticated edits with complex construction criteria and high-precision. Smartphones such as iPhone and Android are more suited for casual data collection.
