Thanks for the reply Robert. As I'm dealing with Decimal Degrees here I'm not sure I would get the area right. The equation takes that into account. I'm pretty sure there is a way in Python to call XY Min/Max for each cell so I can introduce those values into the equation. many thanks Toni

Hi, I'm trying to calculate the area of multiple rasters on a cell by cell basis, that is from decimal degrees to square meters. I've put together an equation that calculates that (see attachment) but as I'm very new to python I'm having difficulties trying to get the X Min, X Max, Y Min, Y Max values for each cell into the equation. Any tips and trick that I can use to accomplish the task would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Toni

Hi, As a previous step for calculating grid cell volume, I'm trying to calculate area for each cell in sq meters for global raster data sets which are in decimal degrees. I've been searching the forums but I don't get a clear idea on how to do this. Is there a straight forward way of doing this in Raster Calculator? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot

I always thought the model should work (see attached). is it an Esri glitch? or is there something not quite right in the procedure I'm following? Cheers

Hi I have exactly the same problem when calculating Oxygen Content using Temperature and Salinity as inputs. Did you come up with a solution? Many thanks Toni http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/89704-RASTER-ITERATION-AND-RASTER-CALCULATOR

Hi, I'm trying to run Raster Calculator in Model Builder using two Raster Iterators (one of them embedded) with no success in the results. I want to calculate Oxygen from a series of Temperature and Salinity rasters stored in a File GDB. I have many layers corresponding to different depths and months. For example: "t1389_apr" should go together in the Raster Calculator equation with "sl1389_apr" and so on. The results I'm getting are telling me that in the calculation it only uses the last salinity raster in the list. It does not iterate sequentially from the first to the last raster in the list. The Salinity iterator is the one embedded within the model. I also tried to use the salinity as a multi-value input but it does the same (only picks up the last salinity raster in the list). I've exported the model as a python script (attached). I've run the model in 10.0 and 10.1 with same results. I would be great if someone could have a look and come up with a possible solution. Many thanks Toni

Hi Dan, The files are just above the limit to be attached (2.80 MB). Is there any chance you can send me your email (privately) so I can send you the rasters? Many thanks

Hi again, I tried also putting the Temperature and Salinity layers in different workspaces but is still picking up the last Salinity layer in the list. Cheers

Sorry Dan, I was wrong before. It actually uses always the last Salinity layer in the list to do the calculation. Thanks

Hi Dan, I tested it and indeed uses the right layers. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the "t" in the final output names? "MOC_1389_apr_mol" instead of "MOC_t_1389_apr_mol" Thanks very much Toni

Hi Dan, I'm very grateful, thanks. I think it works fine but I have a couple of doubts: 1: Is it picking up the right layers when doing the calculation? Please see the attachments. For example "t_1389_apr" needs to go with "sl1389_apr" in the equation calculation; t_1389_jan" with "sl1389_jan" and so on... 2: In the outputs I'm getting (for example): "MOC_t_1389_apr_mol" and I want "MOC_1389_apr_mol" (see final model attached) Thanks a lot Dan Toni

Hi, I'm trying to calculate Maximum Oxygen Content (MOC) from Temperature and Salinity raster layers in Model Builder. I have 15 different sea depth layers and 12 different months making a total of 180 rasters calculated using an equation within Raster Calculator. I've done two sub-models with and Iterator each (one for Temperature and one for Salinity) and put them into a model with the Raster Calculator tool added (see graphic). I'm also using variable substitution in the output (%Name%) but I'm only getting one single output. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
