Hello all, I have a python addin which I have made a copy of then made a few changes to the copy. I would like to have both addins loaded in arcmap but for some reason only one addin will display. I'm wondering if it could be because both addins have the same AddInId value: You can see in this picture from ArcMap that one toolbar is installed but both are showing in the Add-In Manger. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

I'm trying to get the action set up for filtering but after doing Add Action there is nothing available to choose from for Target. Any ideas?

Hello, I am very new to using Operations Dashboard, but so far I am liking very much what I am seeing. I have much reading to do on the topic but wanted to come here with a few questions. Here's what things are looking like so far: I've found that I can filter the display in the list based on what's displayed in the map window. But my question is: 1. is it possible to filter the data displaying in the map window based on what's selected in the list (so if 'LOC2020-0003' is clicked in the list, then that's all that's displayed in the map window). Question 2: when I set it to zoom to the item that I click in the list, it zooms in really far. Is there a way to set the zoom level that it zooms in to? Question 3: Is there a way to print what's in the map window? Thanks everyone, Chris

Hi Robert, yes it certainly is a handful. I think that's why I decided to put it in the discussion vs the standard ask a question. But, yep it's a lot. Thanks!

A bit of a scary subject? Maybe for some, definitely for me . But, what direction does one go when desired functionality isn't found in existing web app templates or widgets? If one wants to build a custom widget, but doesn't know where to begin, where do you start? What do you need to know? As far as programming goes, you're probably going to need to know: some JavaScript probably wouldn't hurt to have an understanding of the dojo framework maybe also something about how to program against a REST service would help to understand how all those widget files relate and talk to each other and probably all sorts of other stuff... What about in the python world? That's personally more my comfort zone. I know that there's now a Python API available, haven't really looked at it. But is the web application stuff still heavily in the JavaScript world? Searching on the internet doesn't really turn much up as far as a 'how to from the ground up' sort of thing (at least from my own searching). Certainly haven't seen any course(s) that would help achieve this goal. What do people think? Where does one start? I wonder if Esri has thought about building a course like this, I suspect it would be a big course heavy on content. Or maybe a series of courses to reach this end goal. Maybe they don't see the demand for this in the community, it would certainly be a lot of effort to build these course(s) and if they don't see there being a big enough interest... Well, that's maybe why we don't see any courses. I'd appreciate hearing thoughts and ideas about this topic. Thanks, Chris

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave it a try, it pretty much seems to work the same (and provide the same functionality) as the story map I had put together previously. I like how you can see all 4 views moving in sync together but I'm not sure if our end users would find it a bit overwhelming. I notice (and it's the same with the story map) that when you do a search and it zooms to the item it zooms in really close. Not sure if this is a web map or mxd setting that can be changed? It just really zooms in too far. Still unable to find a way to filter by item and still having all 4 views in sync. Thanks for the suggestion though. Back to the drawing board...

Good day everyone, I have some criteria in a web application that I want to put together and I'm not sure what the best approach is to achieve our goals. Here is what I would like to be able to display: 1. Four different views of the data: This would seem to be something that be accomplished with a story map, as I want the 4 views to be in sync with each other. 2. I want to be able to filter the data based on a unique field so that we only see one ITEM (this is the unique field) at a time. I have not seen a way to do this with a story map (I would want the filter to occur across all 4 views). There is the Filter Web Application Template, but then I would be losing my four in sync views. 3. Lastly I would like to be able to zoom into the ITEM that the data is being filtered against. I did see a zoom option with the filter app template but it didn't seem to work with my map (it may have required a hosted feature service to work?). But again with the filter app, I'm losing that 'four views in sync' thing. So those are the few things I want to be able to do. I'm not sure if it can be achieved with Web App Builder, or maybe AppStudio. Kind of stuck and spinning my wheels here. Appreciate any ideas anyone might have. Thanks, Chris

Hello everyone, I would like to put together the following and I'm wondering if it's possible to do it in a story map. I have 4 different views that I want the user to be able to flip back and forth between. The views need to be in sync with eachother. This I can do I think with the basic story map (I believe): You can see there are 5 properties displayed in the map service. I would like to be able to: filter the data to display only one property based on user selection, then zoom to the area. I really don't know how to do the filter thing (or if it's possible). I would like it to apply across all four views and then have things stay in sync when it zooms to the property. I was able to get a search working based on ITEM (which is the unique field identifying each property) but I find that it zooms in really far and I'm wondering if there's a way to set how far it zooms in after completing the search? But what has me most stumped is the whole filter thing. I've found some esri blogs about inserting an existing app into another story map, so wondering if I can use the filter app then use that in the story map, but I'm still looking for all 4 views to stay in sync together. Is what I'm hoping to do achievable? Any ideas and insights appreciated. Thanks, Chris

No. I haven’t tried to just run it and see if it honours the selection. It’s selected by another script earlier in the model. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

arcpy.FeatureToPoint_management expects a Feature Layer as in_features (http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/feature-to-point.htm). My in_features is a polygon feature layer with many polygons but I only want to use the selected polygon in the FeatureToPoint_management. Any thoughts as to how to best do this? Thanks Maybe create a in memory feature class, add the selected polygon there then use that as in_features? This thought just popped into my mind right now.
