Here is the response I received back from Support: "Thanks for contacting ESRI Support. There's no way to group features and send one notification instead of individual ones. 10.3 has a new "Envelope Creator" but even with that, there's no way to pull attributes from all features within that envelope into one notification. Below is a link to the New stuff in 10.3. http://server.arcgis.com/en/geoevent-extension/latest/get-started/whats-new-in-geoevent-extension-for-server.htm Kindly let me know if you have more questions on this issue."

Is it possible to group similar GeoEvents belonging to the same GeoFence? Instead of sending 5 notifications for 5 features Intersecting with a GeoFence, is it possible to send only one notification containing field-attributes from all 5 Input features?

Thanks Maarten, from what I have heard Proxy configurations are improved in the 10.3 GeoEvent release. Here is the recommended steps from ESRI Support to setup access through a proxy for 10.2.2 1. On version 10.2.2, you need to navigate to geoevent processor Install directory: 2. Usually C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Server\GeoEventProcessor 3. Go to etc\com.esri.ges.httpclient.cfg (Launch this file in notepad) 4. Add the proxy_host_name and port #Set value to : httpclient.proxy.hostAndPort= 5.Save the edit and restart the GEP service

Hi Maarten, have you tried adding the proxy with no login? We are able to connect to both intranet and internet sites by adding the proxy address to the proxyHost value with no login.

The error "Did not get a valid ArcGIS Server response from " also appears when you are trying to Register an ArcGIS Server to connect through a proxy. Follow these steps for 10.2.2 Re: GeoEvent Processor - Feed Parsing error: can't find the next feed

This was resolved by adding a TRACK_ID tag to a key field in the Input Defintion; changing the opening condition to "GEOMETRY ENTER"; changing the Incident Type to "PointInTime"; and making sure the field tagged with TRACK_ID has values for all records (no null records). It helps to delete the processor and re-create it if you change the settings and still experience the same behavior.

Great explanation of the Incident Detector behavior, we had a similar problem and ended up replacing our Incident Detector with a Filter and found that checking when GEOMETRY points are INSIDE a Weather polygon GeoFence produced duplicate alerts with every poll refresh of the input points. We switched INSIDE in favor of ENTER GeoFence and added a TRACK_ID tag to one of our key fields in the Input GeoEvent Definition. This helped prevent the duplicate alerts. See below for a Visual representation: Kate

I would like to understand how to limit the number of event-triggering alerts in GeoEvent Processor. When I add the Filter in my Service, this allowed all identified events to trigger the alert, as described in the reference material "Introduction to GeoEvent Processor - Module 3" (page 23), but I could not get the same behavior from the Incident Detector that was described in Module 5 (page 4). I also could not figure out how to limit the alerts so that only one alert is sent when the point is inside the polygon. GEOMETRY = Point features from ArcGIS Server (FeatureServer Service) dev-alerts/* = GeoFence polygons from ArcGIS Server (FeatureServer Service)

We use GeoEvent Processor to feed in weather information from AccuWeather REST services. Today I noticed several of the weather service layers had changed names. GeoEvent Processor did not like this one bit. I hope this will help anyone stuck with the same issue. Here are the steps we took to solve this issue: 1) Remove GeoFences within the AccuWeather Category 2) Remove GeoFence Synchronization entirely 3) Recreate GeoFence Synchronization 4) Update the Service Name and Layer Information in any existing Input connectors 5) Check the Services consuming these Inputs, update any components referencing the re-named layer and re-save 6) Re-publish the Service This should resume the Input connector(s) and GeoEvent Service(s) back to normal.

Thank you RJ for posting a solution to this, is the prototype custom processor you spoke of available in 10.2.2? I am also interested in a solution for calculating EventCounts using multiple key fields (eg. ID + StartTimestamp + EndTimestamp) to increment the count. Thanks!
