So I've asked a few questions in this string and I thought it would be helpful to share the project I'm working on and what a street design may involve. Below is a portion of a project I'm working on where we are designing bike and ped improvements. The design is focused on directing bike travel along a safer route and you will notice a 2-way bike lane starting at the right side, traveling north, crossing the northern intersection and then traveling south. I marked areas such as free right-turns or pork chop islands that are challenging to model but are common elements in any roadway design. I've found some work around but hopefully this helps with any future developments of your Awesome Complete Street rule. Also, I've attached a draft version of the CE site. http://www.arcgis.com/apps/CEWebViewer/viewer.html?3dWebScene=31c92693bb544e30b1b184e88d3a49e3 You will notice you will need to turn on 2 layers to see the improvements. Part of my work around was to create a new layer for the free right-turns.

No worries. I enjoy trying out new tools and helping to trouble shoot and help improve where I can. What advice would you give for someone to learn CGA language? My programming skills are basic with VB and Python so I would be considered a beginner. Thanks.

The Begin and End Cross Walk To Stop Bar supports negative numbers. When I enter a negative value the texture joins almost seamless. SWEET!! I noticed if I select a node I have the following type choices: Smart, Crossing, Junction, Freeway, and Roundabout. If I select the buffered space between the 2 segments I have the following choices... Is it possible that a joint takes on the texture it neighbors? Thanks.

I downloaded the CGA rule a few days prior to Christmas. I deleted the code in the two locations and there was no change. I understand decisions need to be made based on design and I realize new tools require time to refine. I need to be prepared to explain why there are gaps in the texture. From a client perspective they focus on areas like this and then we are in a position to explain which can be difficult sometimes. If you come across a fix, let me know. Thanks!!

New question. At junction locations on a continuous roadway section there is a gap in the texture (see attached). I've looked at the different settings to close the gap but I can't find anything other than reducing the Begin_Crosswalk_To_Stop_Bar to zero. Is there another location I'm missing that will close this gap? Thanks.

Through a different post I was able to learn why the intersecting road did not create an intersection. The new road was on a different layer and therefore they did not mingle. To fix the problem I selected the 2 layers and under the Layer menu select Merge Layers. The intersection did not fix until I moved my vertex and reconnected it to the intersecting line.

Okay.... Thanks for your help. Great tool by the way. I work in the transportation and planning industry and I have some other ideas for you to think about but I don't know if this is the forum to share. Let me know the best way to contact you directly if you are interested. Thanks again.

Both. I tried moving the endpoint to create the intersection and drawing a segment. I did some further tests. I created a complete network without applying the street rule. All intersections worked perfectly. Next I added the street rule. After applying the street rule I created a new road without the rule and I tried to connect a portion of the network with the street rule and it replicated the original problem.

I came across an issue I'm not certain how to fix. I created a road network and applied the Complete Street CGA. When I drag a node endpoint to an intersecting road to create a T-intersection the intersection doesn't build. When I replicate the same process without a CGA rule the intersection builds. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm building a network of roads and I'm running into an issue with some of the intersections not building when I snap the road to a vertex. I drag the roadway endpoint to the intersecting road and it draws over the road instead of building a T-Intersection. Any thoughts? Thanks.

That is awesome! When you move the vertex over the neighboring vertex you see the kind of mess it's going to make but it fixes itself. Very cool. Thanks!!!

CityEngine. Bummer! That surprises me CityEngine does not offer a common editing feature like that. Thanks for the reply.

I created a road and without re-drawing the road I want to remove a vertex. I hope it's not obvious how to remove a point but any help is appreciative. Thanks.
