Use .esriSimpleSliderTL to adjust zoom slider position is the correct way in old version. In the latest release, you should change position in app widget config because we have created a ZoomSlider widget.

Attribute table doesn't always use selectFeature(). it uses query if the layer has a URL, uses selectFeature if it 's a feature collection, so this event may not be triggered.

You can wrap this sample as a Dojo dijit and then use it in your widget. But, in fact we have already had a dijit that has the similar function you want, you can find it at stemapp/jimu.js/dijit/DrawBox.

It seems that there are some changes in JS API, I am not sure why this function doesn't work, maybe you can get a clue from API reference: FeatureLayer | API Reference | ArcGIS API for JavaScript In selection mode, features are retrieved from the server only when they are selected. Features are available on the client only while they are selected. To work with selected features: Call the selectFeatures method. Listen for the onSelectionComplete event. Once onSelectionComplete fires, retrieve the selected features using the getSelectedFeatures method. BTW, in v1.0, we use 3.12 API, in v1.1, we use 3.13 API.

I think you need to follow the widget developer guide to create a new widget, it's easy to follow. And, we have some sample widgets in the release package, you can start from there very quickly. If these CSS files are used by only one widget, it's better to put them in widget's folder. But if they are shared, resources array is a good place to put. Here is a topic about loading 3rd resource. Uncaught Error: Bootstrap's JavaScript requires jQuery

Could you inspect your network request to check whether the REST call uses proxy (proxy.js)? I think maybe this is caused by proxy's timeout setting. The proxy.js default timeout 20 seconds, or you can change the timeout setting in server/proxy.js file to have a test.

The previous WAB version has bug when watching the widgets folder's change. And, the list.json under widgets folder is for WAB that is embedded in portal.

Expand all layers when opening the layer list widget will have performance issue, because open layer may cause a HTTP request.

For this requirement: " we created template applications that multiple users could duplicate and modify to create their own applications", the coming release will have this feature. For this requirement: " managers to be able to modify, delete and deploy other user's apps", we have planned to use the AGOL/portal's role model, but it needs a lot of work to do, so we may not have this feature in recent releases.
