ensure that your data are projected (not projected on the fly) and that the X, Y and Z values are in the same units (ie meters, feet or the z-factor is accounted for using an appropriate scaling factor). These issues are discussed in the help files should you require further information.

NIM059845 didn't make it into 10 SP1 and there is no indication as to when it is going to be fixed, nor does the NIM site indicate the temporary workaround. Any further information?

do you have a screen grab to illustrate this? did you try filtering the grid a bit before processing using one of the options in the help files? "Simplify your data by filtering it. This can be done with tools such as Majority Filter, Aggregate, Shrink, and Focal Statistics". The choice would depend upon the nature of your input data.

gp.listenviroments() was not spelled correctly your previous link either, so if it isn't a typing thing and what you do works on other machines, then there is something wrong with your installation

It would be horrendously easy to simply set the analysis extent to a larger size to extend to your desired boundary, but I would suggest that the results would be meaningless or misleading at best unless you know that such an interpolation would generate valid results beyond the bounds of the input data. Also, why have you picked IDW as the interpolator given the other options available to you. Perhaps there is a problem design issue that you could address before settling in on a means to fill in the gaps between stations.
