Do you need to add this as a wms service or can you use the map server endpoint? https://cagmap.snh.gov.uk/arcgis/services/snh_renewables/MapServer This url loads fine in map viewer, but we automatically use the map server url endpoint when it's available with ArcGIS Server based services which this is. You can add the WMS endpoint as an item using this url: https://cagmap.snh.gov.uk/arcgis/services/snh_renewables/MapServer/WMSServer I receive an error message, but the item loads just fine. I'll get the team to look into why an error is received, but as a best practice, I would recommend using the map server endpoint when its available. -Kelly

As this is an HTTP web service url, ensure that you are using HTTP to access the map viewer. Http: Pop up works: http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=08ce7c41ce854a44a4ffb9ab7e02e1a5 HTTPS and pop up does not work due to mixed content: https://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=08ce7c41ce854a44a4ffb9ab7e02e1a5 -Kelly

This isn't possible through the User Interface but is something that we are working on. Until; then you can script an export either through the ArcGIS API for python or with this sample: http://cloudygis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=d3adb69578ba42e9baa0cc6950c08121 -Kelly

Thanks Adrian, To add on, owners of original web maps can disable the option to save as in the item settings. If the options that Adrian described aren't available, ensure that you are signed in and have the privilege to create content. If you don't own the item, the owner may have disabled save as capabilities: Item details—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS -Kelly

Hi Andrew, Calculations and charting isn't built into Story Maps, but you can embed other applications that include such capabilities. I'd suggest taking a look at operations dashboard or the charting and summary widgets in web app builder. Hello, When you store your credentials with ArcGIS Online, the username and password is stored as an Item via a proxy. Security is then controlled to the item using the ArcGIS Online Sharing Model which enables you to keep the content private or share with a group, organization or everyone. All login information occurs over https. You can find out more information about storing credentials at this link: ArcGIS Server web services—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS Information about security and encryption can be found on trust.arcgis.com: Cloud Capabilities—ArcGIS Trust Center | ArcGIS -Kelly

Hi, There is a way to do this currently through the REST API. The documentation for the History API can be found in the Early Adopters Community for ArcGIS Online, which includes samples of how to tell sharing changes on items. You need to be an Administrator of the organization in order to access this log for items that you don't own. Here is a blog about the program: Announcing the ArcGIS Online User and Item History Log Early Adopters Community! -Kelly

You can disable the ability to zoom and pan around with some of the configurable apps. Check out Minimalist and Media Map for details. This can also be controlled with URL parameters: Use URL parameters to modify embedded maps—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS -Kelly

Hi Julia, Grouped layers are a component of Dynamic Map Image Layers and are not supported with Feature layers. If you want to maintain the group layers, I suggest using a map service url instead of the individual layer. -Kelly

Hey Paul, Can you confirm that this is using a hosted feature service in ArcGIS Online? What Process are you using to update the data? overwrite or append? With overwrite there is a small amount of down time while the publishing process completes. For this reason, I'd recommend using append if you are adding or updating records. If this continues, please get in contact with technical support. Here are some helpful blogs about the append functionality. Hi John, Can you provide some additional details about how you are requesting the layer, how often, and what the request is? This shouldn't be intermittently occurring so is something that should be investigate by technical support. Are there any patterns that this follows like after re-writing a service? Can you confirm that this is a service that is hosted in ArcGIS Online? If this is continuing, please get in contact with Esri Support Contact Support to look into the specific issue. -Kelly

Hi Dave, The best option is going to be to get in contact with Technical Support. This way you can work directly with an analyst and enable/disable the halos or create a sample application in order to have the problem investigated. It will be fastest if you give support a call, but feel free to reply here if you need any help getting in contact. Katie Cullen Esri Support Contact Support -Kelly
