Hi Willy, instructor-led classes, web courses, and MOOCs include a certificate of completion. A certificate isn't given for completing a learning plan.

Hi Henry, some Esri programs include credits that can be used for instructor-led training and other services (for example, Enterprise Agreements and Advantage Program). In web courses, if credits are used, they are the ArcGIS Online credits needed to complete exercise steps. If you use the credits in the exercise, you would see the available credit "balance" in ArcGIS Online reduced by 10 credits or so. Hope that makes sense. Bottom line: there are different types of credits. 🙂

Hi Henry, yes, to replicate and teach real-world workflows some web course exercises will require the use of credits. I believe 10 credits equates to about $1.00, so hopefully your ArcGIS administrator will be OK with that.

Hi Khurram, this document has detailed exam and preparation information (pay special attention to the Skills Measured section): https://www.esri.com/training/assets/courses/5ba1263846fee07da2714b9f/EADE19-001%20v2.20200810.pdf. Best wishes for your certification journey!

Hi Caitlin, how you organize your data really depends on the types of data you're using and what you need to do with the data. Setting up table relates is an easy and convenient way to access nonspatial data associated with a layer in a map. The tradeoff is that relates are saved only in that map...however, for spatial layers, you can use the Save Layer to File tool to make the relates available in other maps/projects that include that layer. You can learn about that tool here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/save-to-layer-file.htm.

Hi Jason, I want to echo the learning plan recommendations above and also let you know that MOOCs are completely free (only instructor-led courses have a fee). In January, the Do-It-Yourself Geo Apps MOOC starts and I think it could be useful to you. It covers popular apps that are used in emergency management workflows as well as in many other fields. Cartography. is another MOOC that would probably be of interest—it starts in February. You can sign up for either MOOC at any time at https://www.esri.com/training/mooc/.

Hi Asmita, while the Spatial Data Science MOOC exercises do require the ArcGIS Pro hardware specs, you can still join the course and get access to all the content (videos, quizzes, discussion forums, etc.). At a minimum, reading through the exercises will help you understand workflows and processes used to solve problems with advanced analytics (and reading each exercise counts toward completing the course and earning a certificate). If you're a student, your school may have a GIS lab with a computer you could use. If you're employed and the MOOC relates to your job, your employer may be able to provide a machine that meets the ArcGIS Pro system requirements. We'd love for you to be part of the MOOC, hope to "see" you there.

Hi Paula, if your local Esri distributor does not offer the course, you can register on the U.S. Training website--ignore the message to contact your distributor and continue with the registration process. Please note the time zone of the class you're registering for. 🙂

Esri's newest (free) massive open online course opens in about 48 hours. Everyone registered for Imagery in Action can access Section 1 beginning August 11 around 3 a.m. Pacific time. Planning to attend? Take a few minutes to visit these links and make sure you're set up for a productive and enjoyable learning experience. Link 1: Check Your Specs To get full value from the course, completing the hands-on software exercises is highly recommended. This is a great chance to test-drive (if you haven't already) ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Image Analyst, and ArcGIS Image for ArcGIS Online. Esri provides all the software, but you need to use a computer that meets ArcGIS Pro 2.8 system requirements. See them here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/arcgis-pro-system-requirements.htm Link 2: Run a Quick Tech Check Finding and comparing specs can take a few minutes. This link is a quick way to find out if your computer can run ArcGIS Pro 2.8: https://links.esri.com/run-arcgis-pro-28x Link 3: Review Really Common Questions Since Esri started offering MOOCs way back in 2014, more than 200,000 learners have attended one or more offerings. In seven years, we've gotten a ton of questions and many have been asked more than once. Read through the MOOC common questions before attending and gain knowledge from the questions others have asked (and asked and asked again): https://www.esri.com/training/help/category/mooc/. Bonus Link: Get in on the Fun If you're not already registered but you're interested in hearing from Esri experts and exploring the latest ArcGIS tools to work with imagery for a variety of applications, good news! Through August 25 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific, you can sign up (using the same ArcGIS account you use here in the Esri Community) and start the course when you're ready. A new section opens each week, and if you finish all the course content, Esri will give you a certificate of completion. Note that the course closes on September 22: https://bit.ly/3g9XQfV

Hi Kiernan, the data for that exercise has two files with the same name...but one ends in XML (it's the metadata file). Could it be that you accidentally chose that file instead of the CSV file?

Hi, if you haven't already taken these, I'd suggest you take the GIS Basics web course followed by the ArcGIS Online Basics web course, followed by the ArcGIS Pro Basics web course. These are all free, relatively short, courses that step you through using the software. And here's a web course that shows how to map coordinate data: Displaying Coordinate Data on a Map.
