Does anyone know if road elevation data is maintained by the DOTs or if there's any way we can go about getting it?

I'm mostly looking to get road elevation/grade/longitudinal slope for interstates.

Thank you for the idea Sol, but we need to account for ramps and elevated roads.  Basically we need the information LiDAR would get us without the the LiDAR cost/data collection.  I was hoping this is something someone maintains in a dataset somewhere, but so far my search has gotten me nowhere.

Most US Departments of Transportation should be able to produce grade data from the pavement data collection systems required by HPMS as a byproduct output from raw GPS data.  However I do not think the grade data is required for HPMS as an official dataset of record, it would need to be generated from raw data, which would make it difficult to just request and obtain a ready to use dataset with an open records request.

If you just needed over/under logic, the bridge data for NBI contains over/under information.
