Python Window in ArcGIS 9.3.1

I know this is a stretch, but is it possible to program a python window to pop up in ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1?

Sorry but the python window is v10+ only. I wish it was available in older versions.

How about just having a button/script that launches PythonWin.exe? Downside is that in v9.3, ArcGIS and Pythonwin.exe (as a stand in for ArcGIS-based python window in v10) are more or less incommunicado.

That would work from some sort of VBA code.
