I have an excel file of all the work orders to street light outages that need mapped out. I also have a layer with all the street lights and their assigned numbers. The relationship would be one to many and the excel sheet has assigned street light numbers as well. The issue is in how the work orders are populated and then given to me in excel. First field is the work order #, second is the light # (holds one light #), BUT the second field is Comments and holds multiple light #'s. So the features layer can only relate to the second field and thinks only one light is out when in fact the entire street may have been or there were multiple outages.
Anyone have an idea of being able to show each outage without having to create redundant work order #s to match each pole or is this really the only way to be able to show the locations? Seems rather tedious right? Or can I separate the multiple pole numbers wtihin the one field with a comma and arcmap will still be able to relate and match to the field if the pole # exists?
