As a new user can someone help me to go from CD rom to shapefile. I have a new disc with RTA crash data from 2005 to 2012. I must be dyslexic as I can't find what I need in my ESRI course books. I am a late starter too which doesn't help. My plan is to create an MXD with a layer for each year and one for all the data from 2005 right through to 2012. I have so far achieved a shire boundary and a Topo roads layer. I have found the spreadsheets for each year on the disc and have created a spreadsheet and formatted the X and Y coords fields to be 6 decimal places. I also made a spreadsheet with all the data on sheet 1 and the individual years on seperate sheets. I'm struggling with what to do next or have i missed a step. All help is much appreciated.
