I have an interesting question to propose to the group...Building maps to be included in Trespass Notices for police to issue.
Has anyone done any mapping for trespass notices before? We were asked if our GIS could be used to create a map to be included in the legal notices, but I am really hesitant.
We do not have a surveyor on staff and all of the boundaries for our properties have been manually entered, some without a legal description to back them up. It seems like having our broad disclaimer on a map would prevent it from being used as a legal document because of its potential error and/or vagueness.
Any suggestion, ideas, warnings, examples, reassurances, etc.
...maybe I'm just overthinking this...
