I'm trying to adopt the local government data model for a municipality in Canada. I've been looking at both the Addressing Data Model and the Local Government Data Model, but haven't yet figured out how the local gov data model deals with multi-unit dwellings.

This is a big problem in the municipality I'm working with as we need an accurate assessment of the number of units in order to provide accurate census information.

I was wondering if anyone had any resources or knowledge on this matter.

Much thanks!

The ArcGIS for Local Government Address Editing Map treats every address as a unique point in the Site Address feature class.  And as you dig in to the model, you'll see that you can identify the different unit and types that would be required to uniquely locate a vertical address.  Let us know if you have any further questions.

Jaclyn, I am also working with a Canadian municipality to implement this model. Would you be open to discussing ideas? If you are interested drop me a line at alison.gaiser at ottawa.ca.

Thanks,
