Feature Templates Parcel Fabric

I was wondering what people are doing for feature templates in the parcel traverse grid while working with a parcel fabric.  Specifically the CartoLineType field.  Is there a way to populate the CartoLineType field based on your polygon template for parcel type or do you have to set up templates for the polygon types and templates for the line parcel types as well and choose both in the grid?

at 10.1 you can set the line template when using Construct from Parent. For example, select a subdivision to create a tax parcel. On parcel details choose the tax parcel template and check the box to show parent lines. right click in the line template field and choose Set Template. Pick the line type you want. this will set the CartoLineType.
