Hello!

I get an error with the function "TIN to raster" (ArcGIS 3D Analyst) if the Cellsize is less then 1 (for example 0.5). Is this an error in ArcGIS 10.5. The funciton has worked earlier in ArcGIS 10.3.

Thanks,

Marco

Yes, 0.5m. If I take 2.5m as cell size, everything works.

try specifying a *.tif as output it could have something to do with the output format being an esri grid

Hello Dan!

Thank you for your answer!

I have tried it with a tif. It works with 1 and 2.5m. But with 0.5m I get an error message again.

It is either one of...

  • your file that you are trying to make a tin out of
  • your work environment
  • it is a bug

Your options...

  • Try another file
  • You tried a different format
  • Call tech support

Out of ideas and nothing has seemed to help... so off to someone else... good luck

I would try upgrading to 10.5.1 or higher. Arcgis 10.5 had severe bugs, such as the "Extract by feature" from mosaic raster not working properly. Same as in your case, it worked fine for me with 10.3. Ended up spending a week trying to solve the problem and finally figured out that it was a bug. Also you can check issues addressed list for 10.5 and 10.5.1 or 10.6 to see if there is anything related.
