Site Scan uses the Reality Engine to process drone imagery and create 2D and 3D outputs. These outputs are used in many ways, such as to lay the groundwork for a digital twin, to derive insights using GeoAI, or simply to describe the current state of your project site in a map or application. Processed data is frequently the basis for business decisions, which is why it is important for the data to be reliable.
The processing report is one tool that can inform an analyst or project manager about the quality and accuracy of the outputs. With the latest release, the processing report has undergone a complete redesign to focus attention on what we have heard our users describe as the most important indicators.
The new report begins with a Processing Summary section that now includes your Site Scan project name, mission name, and mission type, which can help users identify the mission that the report corresponds to.
Processing Summary now includes the Site Scan project name, mission name, and mission type.
The Quality Checks section, originally introduced in the prior report version, provides an at-a-glance assessment of the data processing. It includes key statistics that can highlight possible issues with the data capture, camera calibration, and GCPs. View detailed explanations and quality indicator thresholds in the documentation (link is also available directly on the report).
Quality Checks section shows high level indicators of output accuracy and quality and a link to documentation describing the warning thresholds.
The remaining sections of the report are similar to the prior version. Some sections were removed to simplify the report and reduce the need to scroll down many pages to find pertinent information. Additionally, the quality of the diagrams has improved in its colors and resolution.
To view the new report, process a mission and find the Processing Report under the Export menu. You have the option to share the report with others or download a copy to your computer.
The new report in Site Scan v4.207 is just the first of several planned improvements. We are interested in your feedback to learn what statistics and visuals help you most in your assessment of the processing quality. Please submit feedback on Site Scan’s ArcGIS Ideas forum so that we can take these into consideration.
