Hi,
I have been trying to write some python code to access the function of "Make Las Datset Layer" in ArcGIS 10.2.
The syntax for this function is:
MakeLasDatasetLayer_management (in_las_dataset, out_layer, {class_code}, {return_values}, {no_flag}, {synthetic}, {keypoint}, {withheld}, {surface_constraints})
Everytime I got an error message saying "Runtime error Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 15, in <module> File "c:\program files(x86)\arcgis\desktop10.2\arcpy\arcpy\management.py", line 5955, in MakeLasDatasetLayer raise e ExecuteError: ERROR 000800: The value is not a member of C:\ArcGIS\Data\boundary.shp."
Below is my code:
import arcpy
arcpy.env.overwriteOutput=True
# step 1
las_ip=r"C:\ArcGIS\Data\project.las"
las_op=r"C:\ArcGIS\Data\project_dataset.lasd"
surface_contstraint=r"C:\ArcGIS\Data\boundary.shp"
# Creating an LAS dataset (step 1)
arcpy.CreateLasDataset_management(las_ip, las_op, "", [surface_contstraint])
# Creating an LAS dataset layer with first of many returns. (setp 2)
arcpy.MakeLasDatasetLayer_management(las_op, "temp_lasdataset", "", ["FIRST OF MANY"], "", "", "", "", [surface_contstraint])
arcpy.GetMessages()
I have tried many ways to solve setting the parameter "surface_constraint", but always got "ERROR 000800: The value is not a member of C:\ArcGIS\Data\boundary.shp"
But this code works just fine in ArcGIS 10.1......
Can anyone help me??? Really appreciated!!
Nan
