Can I Mosaic two memory stored raster via arcpy function

My code needs to loop through the calculations to get hundreds of rasters and then mosaic them together. Can I store the final result in memory, and mosaic the calculated raster to my final results at the end of each loop? I am doing this to save computation time. The result of my experimentation is that the code reports an error.
