Hi,

I am looking for a way to create an Historical Marker programmatically with arcpy.

The archiving is enabled on a dataset in Oracle SDE.

I think, it's related with arcpy Version Toolset, but I can't find the documentation about this.

Thank you,

Maxime

I don''t think there is a way to create a historic version programatically, at least not that I see.  I see you can use Change Version—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop with version_type "HISTORICAL" and thru the dialog as mentioned in the help, which is why I don';t think it is possible to create on programatically at this time.

Once you have created a historical marker, it becomes available within the Geodatabase Connection Properties dialog box in the Catalog window and the Change Version and Geodatabase History Viewer dialog boxes in ArcMap.

It may be something you need to put in as an ArcGIS Ideas‌  and report back here so people can vote it up.
