Hello everyone,

I would like to create a WMTS service from a raster image published as an Imagery Layer.

In ArcGIS Server Manager, I can see my Image Service. However, in the OGC Services tab, I cannot find its URL among the WMTS services.

Yet according to ESRI:

"Unlike other types of OGC services, there is no WMTS capability option to enable when creating a cached map or image service; WMTS is always enabled." (https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/11.3/publish-services/windows/wmts-services.htm)

In the ArcGIS REST Services Directory, I can see my service (ImageServer), but there is no link redirecting to a WMTS feed.

I also tried several URLs manually without success:

https://mydomaine.fr/server/rest/services/Image_services/Archives_Nationales_1834/ImageServer/WMTS

https://mydomaine.fr/server/rest/services/Image_services/Archives_Nationales_1834/ImageServer/WMTS/1.0.0/WMTSCapabilities.xml

Thank you in advance for your help!

I found what was causing this behavior.

When publishing from ArcGIS Pro, in the Configuration tab and then under Layer Drawing, “Dynamically from data” was selected.

In fact, you need to select “Using tiles from a new cache”, then set the Tiling Scheme to “ArcGIS Online / Bing Maps / Google Maps” and adjust the other parameters depending on your needs.

Hoping this will help others!

Thanks

Hi Glen,

Our Portal and Arcgis Server are in 11.5.0

There are only these two formats :

When I try to add /WMTS/1.0.0/WMTSCapabilities.xml at the URL I'm getting this error :

As mentioned in the support message you shared, my Imagery Layer is already shared with everyone. The Image Service is too :

Hey @AlixCL,

I was going to suggest that because your layer did not have the Cache icon which is usually next to the Database Icon in Server Manager on a Map/Image Layer.

Glad you solved it and closed the loop.

Regards,

Glen
