OID Footprint Generation and Elevation Issues
I'm testing out the capabilities of the OI with my last foray into this over a year ago with the OI Classic. The whole process seems to have been simplified significantly since then which is a great improvement. However, I'm trying to figure out the new workflow with the image footprints.
With the new OID process it seems like the footprints are generate against a flat plane without accounting for the changes in the DEM surface. Is there a step I am missing here? I seem to remember that the old process had the capabilities to generate more complex footprints or even use depth images to generate these footprints.
The following image shows the footprints getting larger as a UAV is flown up a hillside where the relative distance from the ground is uniform:
