Converting old Oriented Imagery Catalogs into Oriented Imagery Datasets

I have a ton of Oriented Imagery Catalogs, all created with a list of links to public cloud storage hosted imagery in AWS. With the recent retirement of the Catalogs and their support in our experience builders, we are having difficulties transitioning to Oriented Imagery Datasets. The txt links list method has worked occasionally but errors out sometimes. When we do successfully create the dataset, the hosted images are not able to be viewed in AGO or locally in Pro (see image below)

My bigger question here: Is there a way to convert Oriented imagery catalogs into Oriented imagery datasets? Or in general, a way where we don't have to rebuild dozens of very large catalogs? Our OICs have 50-100k images, and they took a very long time to create. Downloading the images and trying to publish as attachments isn't an option, but the publicly hosted images don't work, so I'm not sure where to go from here.

Hi Mikaela,

Sorry to know that you are facing difficulty in migrating from the Oriented Imagery Catalogs to Oriented Imagery Datasets.

I request you to share the Oriented Imagery Catalog which has worked for you and one which has not worked.

You have mentioned about using a text links list method.  Is this something that you are referring from a help/forum page and it would be good if you can share the same with us.

Regarding your second question: Yes, we are currently working on simplifying the entire migration process and soon will have something made available.

By publicly hosted images, you mean the images hosted as Image services onto your ArcGIS Online/Portal , correct?

We understand your concern and will provide you with all the assistance to migrate your Oriented Imagery Catalogs to Oriented Imagery Datasets
