I have coastal current data out of a NetCDF file I've converted to points. For each point I have a North-south speed and an east-west speed with west and south being negative values from 0.
I've calculated the magnitude velocity of the water by creating two new columns which transformed everything into positive values and calculated the square root of the sum of both values.
I next need to figure out the heading in degrees...and I'm pretty much lost as to how to do this if anyone might be able to help me out?
