I'm trying to display a map with a custom projection, in such way that I can see, for instance, South Africa with no distortion. This is: if I draw a circle in coordinates (0,0) I see a perfect circle, but the closer I get to a pole, the more distorted I see it. Of course, this is how maps work, i know, but I understand this is because, typically, maps are projected usind the Equator as the horizontal center of the projection (Normal projection aspect, as seen in the attached picture).
Now, my question is: Is there any way to convert a .geodatabase map file (which has a normal projection) to a Oblique projection? I guess this way I would be able to see South Africa with a higher fidelity proportion. I'm not sure the projection is included in the map file or, as a developer, I can manipulate this projection aspect.
Thanks in advance
