Two related questions.
1) When you view an attachment in Collector (photos, pdfs, etc), it "downloads" to your device. Does it actually download and get stored on your device?
2) Same goes for Explorer. Do attachments physically download to your device?
I'm running Collector on an iPad and Explorer on various mobile phones; wondering if I'll need to address storage issues as my users view attachments in the field.
Thanks, Alex
Hola Alex,
I am including a link below from the Collector for ArcGIS, that will address your concern. It looks like once you access the attachment, it will download onto the device but if you want to remove them, you have that option too. I have not found anything within our documentation for Explorer for ArcGIS, that will address your question within this app. I will look to our developers to see if they are able to provide some documentation, which will address this question from Explorer for ArcGIS and I will then post here too.
Gracias, Alex!

Great info Juan. It would seem that when using Explorer, the attachment does not download, since you are never asked to actually download the file like you are with Collector. I also have not seen a buildup of attachments on my device.
Hola Alex,
In looking into this post further, and then doing a few more tests done on my end. I would agree with you 100%, since nothing is really downloaded when you access the attachments as you do in Collector, nothing would be downloaded from Explorer onto the device.
Gracias, Alex!
