Greetings,
My name is Sebastian, I am a rising second year MSW student.
My research interests center around building social equity through applied, strength-based research that strives to empower and lift the voices of at-risk communities who have been systematically and generationally disenfranchised.
With a focus on institutional policy change, my work aims to address the failure of punitive system model for social order to address root causal factors that influence socioeconomic/systemic disparities that disproportionately target low-income and minoritized communities. In doing so, my goal is to support the transition from a reliance on a punitive to a restorative-justice model for social order.
As GIS is not a part of my MSW curriculum, I am educating myself through my university granted access to ArcGIS Pro, Online, etc.
Excited to be here and look forward to learning from you all.
All my best,
Sebastian
