Writing scripts and automating mapping

Does anyone know of any good tutorials for writing scripts to automate some mapping? I am using well data and need to bring in tons of wells and doing them individually will take too long. I dont know enough about this yet to really ask any specific questions, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

It should be a fairly easy task.

There is a good thread on this, which you can find here.  All you should need to do is use a list function, to get all your wells into a list, then loop over them all and make your feature layers and add them to the map.
