Transfer Representation Rules

Hello community,

I was recently facing the following task: Representations are set on a road feature class where some of the features have altered representation geometries. Due to annual updates, a new road feature class replaces the old one. How can I make sure that representations from the old FC are transferred to the same segments in the new FC (using an unique ID, for example)?

Hello Philip,

I am not sure how your feature class symbolize the feature into representation. If you are using VST (Visual Specification Tool) which is refer to certain field or subtype or domain to apply the representation, then if you have new feature class, you can copy the same rule in VST and point to the new FC which is read the same representation which have the same geometry effect setting. But if manual editing have done before, I am not sure the editing will be same, I guess nope unless you load the old data to new FC.
