we have archmap10, and when we put a scale on a map then print it, and then put a scale on it, it does not measure true. its about 1/16 off. like we have a scale set to 1in=500ft, but when we put a ruler on the scale it 1 inch is really 15/16. any idea why, is it a setting that i have set or something else?
Are you attempting to print from layout view or data view? Make sure your printer settings are not scaling the map to fit to the printer paper, or you are overriding your scale settings in ArcMap.
